Well, one thing is you won't see much of the above leet speak in the forums unlike WoW's. (I play both).
EQ2:
2 expansions 2 adventure packs
Removed archtypes (no longer need to reach 20 to get to your end class, you get to jump right in now at level 1 as the class you wanted).
Tons more solo/small group content.
Mail system added, cross Freeport/Qeynos mailings avaliable.
PVP system includes some features that many have asked for in wow such as taunt causes target to change target to taunter for few moments.
Combat skills and talents have the ability to react completely different in PVP than PVE. So that changes to PVP do NOT effect PVE.
Max raid size, 24 people.
Vitality (Rested) system but better, you don't have to logout to get it or have to be at an inn.
You can jump off a damn griffon!
Added a lot more flight paths to make travel easier.
Removed a LOT of access quests, now level based.
Removed group EXP debt.
Removed shard/corpse recovery.
Massively reduced EXP debt. (1-2 blue kills generally gets rid of it).
Increased EXP rewards for quests (sometimes triple).
Added a lot more quests.
Alternate advancement system You know, sorta like the AAs from EQ1 only better. It doesn't reduce your exp gained.
Level cap is now 70, was 50 at release.
I dunno about the pvp system as I'm not a big pvper. You'll need to visit their website for that.
The best thing about EQ2 I think is the development cycle. They don't take months and months to add something simple like a LFG menu system. I find most of their changes are to GET more customers so over all good.
Well, thats what I could think of off hand.
I still play WoW cause my friends won't let it go. It's like the old EQ1 people who just couldn't stop playing cause they had so much invested. I think EQ2 is a much better game and the people "generally" seem more mature. Not to say they all are but I've just had worse luck in WoW. I also find the 24 person cap on raids to be MUCH more appealing. I also find that EQ2 doesn't really require me to raid to get decent gear but thats another matter and not "new".
Cheers!
first thing, i go to the WoW forums frequently and rarely see leet speak
second thing, for people calling wow a copy cat to EQ2 i think this post above proves its the other way around
wow has rested XP, EQ2 adds rested XP
wow has no experience debuff after death, EQ2 takes away their debuff
wow is mostly solo, EQ2 adds a large amount of solo material
i mean come on now, WoW while taking alot of elements from previous MMO's has added alot themselves and this shows it.
You can add a 4th to that also. After seeing massive people complain about non solo ability during the first couple months compared to WOW......they added more solo content.
Not a bad thing, at least they are trying to meet there customers needs. Even if the sole reason is for the almighty dollar.
Originally posted by DuraheLL It's bizarre how people cannot see the facts of the mmorpg's, everytime you state facts people start twitching and rotating them so they sound absolutely the best to the game. Accept the games for what they ARE, don't care if you wish it was like other games cus it ain't!
mabe you should follow your own advice .......
im not over powered! look it took me 10 minutes to kill that guy

Get WoW u wont be disapointed.
EQ 2 i tried it and it is a fun game but i find it slow.
But i suggest to try both, subscribe to fileplanet, download the clients and play the trials. Well it is only $2.95 a month i think to subcribe.
