it's brand new and rated lower than wow.

what do you think will happen after a year and a half when everyone is bored of it and comes to this site looking for a new game and kills it's review.

rf online is off to a bad start, and every mmo in the history of mmo's gets more boring and more tedious with time.

just wait for the score to fall off the map.

What a load of crap. Your saying becasue its new it should have a better rating than WOW, seriously to the OP you should know not to listen to this guy just by his first sentance.

Many games will come out and wont get the same rating as WOW just for the simpel fact that it has become very popular and has the most Fanbois out of anygame ever made. So now because a game isnt rated as high as WOW it means it sux, hahaha, what great logic you have. I find the "just wait for the score to fall of the map" statement very funny indeed, really do you belive it is going to do that ? if you do then you are lieing to yourself. RF is far better than alot of games and it has only been out for a week, lots of bugs have already been sorted out and the game is running smoothly and soon we get the new giga updates which will make the game even better. You arent even giving the game a chance and the fact that you even say that its score will fall off the map proves that you have no clue, if you look at the gamelist there are games that are FAR worse than RF but still have decent ratings.

To the OP, if you are after PVE this game is not for you, if you want PVP then it is definatly for you.

I don't think it's the game for either PvP or PvE.  There are too many down sides to the game, and there is no strategy involved in the PvP.  It is nothing more than keyboard smashing a potion spamming.  And the PvE is a huge joke.  There is no content to speak of.  There is nearly nothing in the way of quests, and there is no crafting.  So there is nothing to ake up any of your time other than the grind to get to the PvP aspect of the game.

If you want good PvE, go back to WoW or maybe try a game like EQ2.

If you want good PvP, DAoC is considered the best by a large group of people though I have never experienced the high level of that game.

Either way, unless you're an asian MMO fanboi, this game is not for you.

You don't understand a thing about the game, do you?
The whole idea about the community being the game is wasted on you. This game is all about faction vs faction with some of the good aspects of FFA pvp. its the community that makes the game here, after a few days you know names of people of the other faction who are hunted down by you and your fellow faction members. you will never know what its like to hunt down the enemy faction leader who is a player with a group of people. saying the pvp doesn't require strategy only proves how little you understand of this game. No don't tell me, you went alone in an area and tried to kill someone, but you couldn't cause of the potion spam. you CAN NOT take anybody out on your own because this is based on group vs group pvp. you won't find much people fighting alone, you will fight with groups of 10~20 people vs other groups. if you don't like it then stop bashing the game and go back to your wow.

    My Verdict:
I like it, but it's not for everyone.

This is NOT WoW. It's not even meant to be like WoW. If WoW is what you cut your MMO teeth on, stay there.

In most MMO's, success is measured by what level of content you've achieved/experienced. RFO is not content-based. The PvE content is (currently) only there as a grind. Love it or hate it, that's what it is. The real meat of the game is the PvP aspect, which IMHO is far superior to WoW or anything else out there ATM except maybe DAoC (of which this game is remarkably similar in design). Also, success in many MMO's can also be measured in how pimped-out with uber gear your character is. While there is some variety of gear in RFO, it's not how your character is defined. Which personally, I am thankful for. I would rather be defined by my skill and my actions that whether or not I have uber-rare-glowy-sword-of-doom. This game is all about your faction, and the overall long-term success of your faction.

So in summary: if you want an MMO with lots of PvE content, instances, raids, big boss fights, rare items and long involved quests, STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME. If you want good PvP, faction-oriented PvP, and don't mind the grind (I don't seem to) then maybe give it a try.

    MMO history:
    EQ1 - 65 DE Wizard
DAoC - 50 Dwarf Thane, 50 Dwarf Healer
EvE - Amarr, Caldari BShip Pilot
    CoH - 40 Ice/Ice Blaster, 40 Dark/Regen Scrapper
WoW - 60 Undead Priest, 60 Tauren Warrior
    LoTRO - 30 Hobbit Burglar
    Currently Playing - Tabula Rasa

Hey, I'm not saying that the PvP in the game is the worst there is, but there are other games, like DAoC that have a much better system, plus PvE content to go along with it.  At least there is someone who can admit the game doesn't really offer anything for people interested in PvE.  And in my opinion the PvP system is somewhat dumbed down and doesn't require much strategy other than sitting at your keyboard spamming skills and potions.  Again, I'm not saying the PvP is the worst I've seen, but it's not the best either.
