What is Siege Perilous?

I was just wondering what is this about? I really don't know that much about the current UO. I have been interested in finding a game that is like pre-trammel UO. I was wondering if Siege Perilous was like a server with the original rules or something.

siege is the same crappy UO as the rest but without Trammel and insureance.
I dont know if this has changed but when I was playing you also couldn't sell goods to vendors
