SWG wins Coaster of the Year Award (again)

In March 2006 issue of Computer Gaming World magazine, two SOE games (Matrix, SWG) both win Coaster of the Year awards. SWG's 2nd win is unprecedented because no other game has won two times.

"All this game needs is a literal shark-hurdling sequence to make it complete. Its not that the game is so horrible (though boring, ugly, and uninspired are nothing to brag about) but that its so incredibly unecessary and ill timed. Whose idea was it to base a game upon a franchise that had not only peaked but embittered and disenchanted its fan base with some of the most disappointing movies ever ? Such a monumentally poor decision is unprecedented in gaming."

But SWG is all about sounding great and not being great. The new game is not only broken and buggy, it also infuriated what fans it did have by negating most everything those poor souls had achieved over the last 2 years. And it still isnt fun. No more do-overs for you SOE."

    It's only the vocal minority of magazines that are giving SWG their Coaster of the Year award. The majority of magazines are still playing and enjoying it.

    The Washington Pot ripped SWG

    The NY Times ripped SWG.

    Gamestop ripped SWG

    I think he might have when addressing some german Jesuit monks last Christmas which somehow tied into the topic of aging Nuneries. But don't quote me on that since it was all done in Latin and I had to "guess" what he meant by the emotion shown on the pope's face.

    This should clear it up, just in case anybody was still on the fence.

    I'll give up the day Mr. Smedley is fired, George Lucas calls me personally to apologize, SWG rolls back the servers, SOE goes bankrupt and sells SWG to anyone else, and Smedley / Dickenson / Torres / Nancy / all go to prison for consumer fraud.

    Until that day comes, I will make it my goal to let the folks know what a despicable, sleazy, sack of lying shitbags  SOE is.

    Star Wars may just be a game to some folks and may explain why they dont understand my passion for it. For those that stood in line back in 1976 and left that theater forever amazed will understand. SOE took a dream of living in Star Wars and not only took a dump on it, they lied to me over and over while doing it.

    I was one of those standing in line. Primary reason when SWG came out, I read what it was, and took a pass. Another primary reason that I hooked up with EVE as soon as it was released........and never looked back....it ain't star wars' universe, but the conflicts sure as hell equal it at times. And even more, (whether ya like the perspective (ship vs. avatar), we have devs who shoot straight, and that's worth more than gold.....er..........isk. ::::01::

    dude, you missed the joke.

    smedley says that only a small vocal majority of vets are disgruntled and have left the game, most are still playing and enjoying the new star wars-y experience.

    Go get 'em Admriker444.

    Two games both by SOE mentioned for this award.  

    Had anyone else but SOE gotten this award it would of been a travesty.  SOE truley, honestly deserve it.

    Congrats SOE!!!  It couldn't of happened to a nicer bunch.  

    And this wasn't made up by any of the ex-vets here.  It's from an outside source as well as all the other articles that have been written comdemning SOE.

    Yep.. $OE really are the "innovators" and "Industry leaders" in the mmorpg field. They're competing with turbine on who can suck more.
