C'mon man, I f you read these forums or the SWG forums at all you'd know that crafting is dead. Why buy something from a crafter when better items drop as loot now?
Dont do it. Recently I myself have been having these thoughts...but then I remind myself all I am going into is a clusterf*ck of people running around with lightsabers killing each other. Oh and the fact that I really don't like SWG as an FPS, there are only 9 professions now, crafters are getting shafted while Jedi's are becoming more godlike, everyone can use heavyweps, PvP battles last about 5 seconds, SOE continues to butt rape its customers, I would have to pay to play and incomplete alpha phase game, and all of my friends are gone.
Honestly dude, I have tried almost every mmo since NOV and none have the depth that SWG did. DOAC was a little close, with games like Saga of Ryzom behind it. I play WoW now, and enjoy it. I dont know why I enjoy it, it is a rather simple game, but I find it fun. Good luck with your search, but I would not suggest going back to SWG, even if it was the last mmo on earth.
I did the same thing a couple of months ago. I went in and played with my toon some. Looked around my guild's deserted city. Went to a few big cities to see if there was any goings on. Nothing. Hung out in the Eisley Cantina to see the rp'ers. Went to Dant to realize that my level 63 jedi is capable of taking on mobs 9 levels higher than me but only if I use a rifle.
The game hasnt changed much. Just emptier of players. Bugs bugs bugs everywhere. SOE still just wants your money to build a new expansion instead of fixing the game.
Best that will come of it will be you can post on the SOE forums to express your displeasure.
thx for reminding me. I also talked to a fellow guildmember that also reminded me about the emulator. So I just have to wait. But it is tempting, isn't it?
It is tempting. I read the SOE forums everyday looking for some glimmer of hope that something might change for the better. Waiting on a miracle or an Emu. /sigh
I won't. Good review btw admriker444. I will read it every time I start thinking about going back. I also hear about the new BH thing today so I realise now they want to destroy this game.
And remember.. every time someone resubscribes, $OE kills a puppy.

Last time I logged my toon in during PEAK hours there was not a single person on my friends list of over 120+ online, the combat and crafting is now a pure joke and I cant understand why any person would pay 1$ to play SWG. My accounts are now 100% dead and I couldnt be more happy, I now play Daoc and it isnt perfect but at least I am enjoying myself.
I can honestly say, just about every single person here and all those who have quit have thought at one time or other of going back. I know I have.
I'm no different then you or anyone with these thoughts. As I've posted here in these forums, that I've been searching for a game where I can finally stay. A game similar to SWG and even though I've tried many games, many of the top games out, I haven't been able to find anything I like as I did with SWG.
I drift in thought of all the great times I had. Of all the stuff I own and I own plenty. I miss my houses, my ships of which I have many with awesome ship parts. I miss everything as does everyone here.
But then I wake up and realize the game isn't the game we once knew. Unfortunately, it's not. It's like going to a new game, a crappy game but this time you already have everything you need. The friends you had are most likely not there either.
I, for one wish they would just shut down this game completely. This way I wouldn't think of it. I wouldn't comtemplate the thoughts of returning either.
Don't give in to temptation as if you do, you'll be very dissapointed if you do once you see how much different this game is now. Even crafting is being taken out, doesn't leave much to do either.
SOE will someday pay for ruining something so many people treasured. As it is, they're already the gaming communities laughingstock.
It's your cash to spend as you see fit. But this isn't about money, it's about principal.

You could always buy a copy of Alone in the Dark on dvd which is infinitely more satisfying than star wars galaxies today.

This was about a week ago. Game is totally dead, crafters are pointless, and whats left of the community is awful.
Don't do it. It's like paying 15 bucks for a t-shirt that says "I support corporate facism!"

If they bring back decay, yes I will "consider" going back.
