Hows DAOC going?

I want to hear an answer from some active players, because my friend and I are big fans but we play on an off alot. I havent played in a year, and While I was playing WoW my friend brought the topic about Daoc and I just started to day dream of SP and just going to the BG. I might go check it out, and play on the classic server, just because I never bought anything past SI hehe... I looked at the server pop this morning and looks like the game is rolling smooth for 10:30 am (CST) on the classic server it was 1300, so Im guessing 2k at peak which isnt too bad in my opinion.

Gareth is the most active classic server. Around 2400ish at peak.

On the classic server are there any game play changes, besides nothing going past SI..
o yes, Does the classic server have a big problem with people playing bots?
I really wish the "Classic" servers were not called classic because there is nothing classic about them.
The server simply does not have ToA. You do not have /level command, and there is resriction on the range of concentration buffs.
You have all of the classes, races, frontiers, battle grounds, and zones (minus ToA zones) as you do on the other servers.
So is the game doing alright in general...

Seems like in the lower BG's there usually 80 hibs, 3,498,594 mids and 18 albion.
Blast them Damn MIDS!
Of course I am being sarcastic, but getting steam rolled in BG by Zergs really suck (LOL), but I am still having a blast
I too am a old SWG Exile so it was quite easy to learn the game style, yeah and reminds me of old SWG combat style. Too bad they dont got Pikeman/TKM combos!

Incorrect. Classic servers have all expansions except TOA.
BOTS aren't a problem on classic servers because of these rule differences on classics from 'normal':
1) CONC buffs can only be cast on group members, period.
2) CONC Buffs have a range of 5000 units. If you go beyond 5k units from the caster the buffs drop.
3) No /level command
4) No TOA. All other expansions are enabled, including Catacombs and DR.
Basically playing on a "Classic" is like playing "old school DAOC" with new toys in the game but nothing game breaking and no bots.

Are you sure about that? When I was looking through the server list, I didn't see any "*" for Mid on servers but saw a couple for Alb and a lot for Hib.
Mid is the underdog. I am not sure if * means underpopuated or not, but only most of the servers they are underpopulated. You can look here for a list of population bonuses which will tell what where Mid needs help the most: http://www.camelotherald.com/article.php?id=64

Well 16 hours playtime could mean he started playing yesterday or a couple months ago, doesn't tell me much except that he has played 16 hours this week, he could have 265 total hours of playtime and it just isn't showing cause he still has more in AO...

Alot of Albs switched to Hib over the past couple of months because they would rather play easymode Hib...
