Yeah I saw that, it's pretty funny.

But the thing is, that's still a pretty shitty thing to do, but the question is, which is worse, the fact that those guys crashed the service, or the fact that the people holding the service announced on their realm forums where the ceremony would be, what time, and that they would wear nothing but tuxedos and refused to fight back.

Or perhaps even worse that an e-funeral occured at all. Pay your respects to the deceased, but for the love of god, e-funerals are just lame, plain and simple. But still, crashing one takes some gall.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this.

On the one hand, these guys (the victims) were trying to do something nice in the memory of a real person. Having lost many loved ones in the past, I know how it feels. Personaly, I would never mourn someone through a video game but that's just my opinion and I wouldn't begrudge someone else the right to do so.

On the other hand if you play on a PVP server, you have to expect to get jumped at any given moment, wether you feel like it's appropriate or not. It's a game and you have to play by the prescribed rules. Think about it like this: If a football player died, his teammates would mourn his loss, but they wouldnt have the ceremony in the middle of a big play. And who could blame the other team from capitalizing on the opportunity if they did?

I guess I'm going to begrudgingly side with the offenders in this case. If the guys who lost their friend wanted to safely do something like this, then they should have chosen a safer spot. Or at the very least, come ready to fight and put out sentrys so you don't get caught off guard.

From an objective viewpoint, I really liked the video. The music was well chosen and the editing was good. Pretty fun to watch.

Only because yes this was in a video game. Now if it were some real life ceremony or funeral then I would be like what the.......but its not. It is in a game, on a pvp server none the less.

I agree with the last post 100%. Where were their sentrys to atleast tell them.... hey guys theres ally, we fight now.

and the fact that the offended person(s) said they wanted that guy's dad to die and have some naked guy run in? Why would he want that when he got screwed in game lol. Not like they didn't anyhting in real life to any people or friends of the offended. Some peopel jsut go too far lol.

but I loved the video, great music, and it was kinnda cool that they were doing something nice to honor a friend.

I guess I'll have to be the party pooper here and say that is pretty low. A real person died and people were paying respects in some fashion. It's not like everyone can fly to where they lived and pay their respects so they did it in game. There's nothing tremendously sad about that.

 

That being said it didn't happen to me so it is easier to find the humor value in this. Also, you probably could have done the service over ventrillo or used an ICR channel... or something else if you wanted it to be safe. The conscientious side of me said 'This is terrible!', while the evil in me snickered as I watched the video.
