The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (ARE YOU READY?) (new vids)

Rikimaru_XRikimaru_X Member UncommonPosts: 11,718

I just came across some videos I have never seen on Oblivion and I would like to share them with you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxv_HEFDMF0&search=oblivion I think this one is brand new. It's on IGN too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D83hQ10x8Ds&search=oblivion WORTH WATCHING IGN showed somthing like this but this one however shows more than what IGN did (over 10 minutes more...i guessed the minutes btw). Downside is they are previewing it in spanish while the video is running. If anyone can find the original video please give me a link/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9repWENaTmE&search=oblivion Character Creation 3 Someone playing it and being recorded on a shaky camera. Looks like an Xbox360 event.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAPMnlNGLnA&search=oblivion Character Creation 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l5uH4uoxhs&search=oblivion Character Creation 2

That's about it I found so far. I can't wait. I know I'm going to crap my pants when I get the collector's edition in my hands.

IGN HAS SIX NEW SCREENSHOTS (ONE WITH THE GLASS CLAYMORE!)

Thats my view as well on most games, I even was considering downloading this one. But this game is so amazing I have to have it in my collection.

I can't see how you would download an amazing game. I would be honored to have it in my collection. Buy that damn game, boy! Good luck playing that without a manual too.

I have that attitude towards many games. But when it comes to real quality work I like to have a hard copy of it. Games that I haven't read much about, or games I just want to pass some days with I will download.

Thats generally how I feel. Im definatly going to buy Oblivion, I honestly dont think the thought of downloading it ever crossed my mind. JUST 6 MORE DAYS!

Yeah, I generally try ALL my games with BT before I buy them. Too much crap comes out these days, and all the review sites are paid off so you can never get a straight answer as to if it's good or not. However, if I like something, i always go out and buy it. Oblivion I will just go out and buy, I've already pre-ordered. Bethesda is one company that I have the utmost respect for, and I'm not in the least bit worried that I'll regret buying it. It'll sit on my shelf proudly next to my original Daggerfall and Morrowind boxes. (Don't have my original Arena box anymore :(
Here's a good question though, who's buying what version? I assume most of you will be getting the PC version. I'm getting the 360 version for a couple different reasons, one being that I think it's gonna dog on my PC. Two because I've got my 360 hooked up to my projector (yeah full wall Oblivion!) Three cause I've got this 360 and they've made crap as far as games I want to play on it. Really terrible job with roll-out games on Microsoft's part.

I couldn't even consider downloading it. Some games I just HAVE to have the security of knowing I have a physical copy of. Much like Half-life 2 I want to be able to keep this on my terms, and not rely on my internet or download site availability.

I agree with above posters, for the true quality 'keepers' - it's gotta be a disc copy.

This game will fill the gap nicely til someone puts out a high quality MMO

  • scaramooshscaramoosh Member Posts: 3,424

I used to buy ever game, i still buy many but what i find with Single player games is i play them once for a couple of hours and then get bored, which doesn't justify paying for it IMO.

I buy online games because you need the cd key and the fact that i come bk to them ALOT like CS.

PC. Even if i had a 360 i would still buy the pc version, even though my computer wont be able to run it on max settings it should still look and play great. The main reason? construction set baby! It was ridiculous the amount of mods that came out for Morrowind, youll be missing out on so much extra with the console version.

Besides, the map alone will be worth having. The morrowind map was sooo cool cause it showed you everything. You would be walkin around aimlessly and check on your map to see if anything you hadn't been to is around. I laminated mine and wrote all over it, crossed out sections I'd been too before.

Yeah, I read up on that. They are going to be releasing the Construction Set via website, and the 360 users won't be completely left out. If you have the hard drive you'll be able to download mods for Oblivion. Not as versitile as the PC version, but it'll be an option

I usually download all of my single player games of BT. But this one i just have to own...

I got morrowind with a gf card and didn't really give it a chance but a few days ago i installed it and i freaking love it! I just think the combat is kinda dull because it's just aim and click and then it's up to luck if you block or hit...

I just look forward to a new combat system and a god damn horse ::::15::... and of cause some amazing graphics yay!

Nice videos.Although ive seen most of those. It's to bad i dont have a good enough PC or a xbox360 to play the game.Oh and the one video is in german not spanish.

Ill be getting the PC Special Edition. I was considering downloading it, but it will take forever on my connection, plus like many others said before me, id much rather have the actuall disk, box, map and everything else. I loved Morrowind and the expansions, so I really dont want to rip Bethesda off by downloading it, if the game is as good as Morrowind and as good as what ive seen and read, they deserve my $60.

Just a friendly warning.  My buddy bought the XBox version of the last one.  Then when the expansions came out he ended up having to buy the original for the PC too.

There will be updates, extra content, maps, quest, items, etc. through Xbox Live so X360 users won't need to worry. They will hook us up.

What a great review, thanks for the link Gid!

I wouldnt D/L a game like this, its fair to say Bethesda have earned their $90AUD and Ill hand my cash over happily.

After reading that write up and knowing how much I enjoyed Morrowind, I am hanging out to get my hands on a copy. Looks brilliant!
