If you're looking for an easy character to get started with, two options.
1> Warrior with Mining and Blacksmith. Warriors are one of those classes that are easy to pick up and play, until later in the game when it becomes demanding. Since they are such a gear dependant class, Mining and blacksmithing will help you make up for anything you are unable to find.
2> If you want to solo and learn the game that way, I'd suggest Paladin for alliance. My first character was a pally and I was able to solo equal level elites. Not only that but healing classes are always in demand. It doesn't really matter what class you choose with Paladin, I'd go engineering though, most pallies agree.
I really enjoyed playing a hunter. It was fairly easy to solo, having a pet was a lot of fun, and it's a fairly straight-forward and simple class to play. Plus you can choose either alliance or horde, as both have hunters (night elves and trolls make the best hunters IMO).
My suggestion would be to read a description of what each does. After reading it, if I had more questions , I would hit up soem forums to do with this game and check out anything to do with the desired classes I wanted to play. Since Im big on pvp, sometiems I check out the pvp of all characters...see who bitches the most about what class and so on. Ultimately though, I will not choose a class that is our of character in regards to what I like to play.
Since I do not know you and have no idea what you like to play or what you like to do......since you gave no hints to this what so ever. Do you post stuff liek this when you go to buy a car too or get a job? Just play what sounds cool or at least give us a friggin hint to go by what you may like ...gahhhhhhhhh
