Is this game worth the wait, is the hype truthful or just another MMO trying to escape that shadow of Blizzards monster! I been waiting for a great game to quench my thirst thats been lingering for a long time now! Basically what im getting at is im to old to play WoW , SWG had been murdered , and im to young to play bridge
I never really like Blizzard, you cant trust Turbine for the AC2 incident, we all know what SOE is capable of
So what im asking is, is the wait worth it?
Comments
yes i believe Vanguard is worth the wait, I been playing Eve-Online DDO and lots of Counter Strike source to pass the time. Just looked up Roma Victor also, figured i'd give that a shot seeing as its a FREE MMO. Launches in July.
If I ever get into the beta so I can judge for myself, I would respond cryptically (so as not to break NDA) to questions here and most likely add "the hidden message" in the post by something as simple as "bunches of smiley faces" or "frowny faces."
But I am not in the beta so I can only post:

PLEASE SOE MAKE A CLASSIC EQ SERVER. Shadow of luclin was a prick in EQs side. PoP Was a gun to the face.
It's tough to say. From a cynical perspective one can say that nothing will ever appease the gamers who lost their "virginity" to EQI or even WOW. I however think that the vast majority of other games out simply tried to immulate a game to cash in on the sucess of EQI and most failed. EQII promised everything and the kitchen sink before it released and then cut most of the cool or important things out. I believe that if it had done everything they said that it would appease the hunger a lot of MMORPGers feel. Vanguard certainly is the most qualified based on it's FAQs to pick up the mantle and step forward as the new Evercrack. We can only hope that they actually stick to their guns and actually implement all of their promised goodies.
The one thing that we do know now and can count on is that McQuaid and Company at Sigil are gamers and that they love games and love making worlds and creating Fantasy. That type of love and dedication can be seen with people like Peter Jackson and LOTR or in the original EQI and the level of details they gave Norrath. If that fanboi enthusiasm can be translated into the pixels that make up Vanguard then all those that have felt lost since leaving EQI will I think feel satiated again.
So when is the game going to be released anywayz?
Been reading about the features of the game, and it seems it has some good stuff in there. Anyway I must admit im a little concerned about the rouge class, ( for those that played WorldOfRoguecraft -wow-).
Calling themself (one of) the first 3rd " age " mmorpg(s), needs some gutz, or some real trust in the game they are developing. I dont know if im making myself clear, but what im trying to say is that many of us will be surprised at the moment they do the international lunch, since beta testers are under a stict non-disclosure agreement (NDA) which means that players who are chosen aren't allow to disclose anything about the game or to even let outside people know that they are in the beta, and anyway the game hasnt revealed all the things it has to offer, it still one of the most aticipated mmorpg's of this year...
I believe the mmorpg battle will be between Vanguard and Hero's Journey since both promise a new gaming "style"
