Question to the Masses - help req

Hi there, im a newly registerred user and have a question, hopefully that some of the mmorpg veterans here will be able to answer.
I am looking for a Fantasy based MMORPG. I used to play Everquest and loved it, but am looking for a change. I played Star Wars Galaxies and didnt like it, there didnt seem to be an element of fun involved with it. The game im after preferably has good high end content - read top level guilds and hard events/raids. Preferably based in a fantastical place you know the sort, swords and magic 
PC Spec : 512 DDR, 128 Geforce 4 fx 5200, AMD Athlon 2600, 120 gb HD, currently a 56k stable connection upgrade to Broadband coming soon.

It doesnt matter if the game is out already but preferably it is a new MMORPG, rather than one with alot of expansions - such as EQ.

Sounds like you've been with eq for alittle while, new releases are coming out soon. You might wait a few and see your choices then, and check msg boards about certain games...UXO, WOW, EQII and L2 are a few.
I hope you find what your looking for.
I haven't played DAoC, so I can't comment about that...but EQ is the best MMOG for high-end raids that is on the market that I am aware of. All others have raid-quality content, but not at the level of sophistication and difficulty that EQ has.
AO has some of that content, but again it's not nearly as sophisticated and prevalent as EQ. EQ evolved into a raiding MMOG. The primary content in that game is for high-end raiding guilds.
