It might be better for SOE as a company to sit back and let you all think that LucasArts forced this stuff on us. Guess what, they didn't. We all sat around a table and read the same data.

So if they were both at the same table, then they're 50/50 to blame on the concepts. We all know they're 100% to blame on the coding, so that makes it at least 75% their fault.. in smed's own words.

And a truth...


The truth is the community morale won't improve until the game does. Communication can't fix this. Improvements to the game can. The fact is our communication has improved.. people don't neccessarily like the message is all. I get that. So do our community folks. My preference is that all the posts in the gameplay forum are discussing gameplay balance.. and in-game issues.. but they won't until we get the game to a baseline fun level. We're not there yet. We know that. We're working to fix it. There is no other answer.

    Played SWG since Beta 2 and I enjoyed making my Master Teras Kasi/ *(whatever profession seemed fun at the time insert here) and I could see the trouble they were having trying to balance out the game with the open skill system. People on the forums always seemed upset at several things all the time (still haven't imagined why I keep reading forums for games I play).

    From all the changes they have implemented to create the NGE and beyond seem like SWG would be better suited for the Clone War period of the timeline instead of the Rebellion period. If you are going to allow Jedi then create the immersion for Star Wars by having the game support your enviroment.

    The Clone Wars would still allow for galactic stuggle between the Republic and the Separatists. Build up your fringe (criminal) as a possible third player faction. All in all, SWG was exciting at first, but it never had that potential to be Star Wars. lol... when it became known that you could master 5 or so professions that were randomly chosen for you at creation to make a Jedi then all hell broke loose and the game really became ruined for me at that moment. All the people I depended on for supplies, weapons and armor all left their profession to hologrind all over the galaxy.

     

    Sigh... I will see what SWG evolves into and if they can make changes for the better.
