I wouldnt recommend going with the AMDX2 if youre planning on using this thing for gaming. If you look at these benchmarks, http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/11/21/the_mother_of_all_cpu_charts_2005/ (Pages 24 onward) youll see the X2 3800+ gets beaten out by much lower single core CPU's in gaming, although its faster for general use. I would say go with a 4000+. I dont believe games will be taking advantage of dual core for awhile still, as theyre not even really taking advantage of 64bit yet.

Cheap SLI, I like it ::::28:: You don't need that strong of a power supply, you can reduce the power to 500 or less (if they even make SLI power supplies that weak) and maybe save more.

Also I'd stick with the dual core. Those benchmarks are old Orcc, the newest Nvidia drivers give a boost to dual cores.

really good, and i also like how the mobo is ready for the m2 socket also (so maybe you could get a cheaper cpu so you have more cash for an early future upgrade), but the chipset on the mobo could be better, also 500 gigs of HD space, i have 260 gigs i dl so much junk off the net its unbelieveable and i still have around 180 gigs left, maybe just one of those HD's will do.

Hey guys thanks for the response (and benchmark link).

Yea i will probably buy a new comother board in the near future, but it is a rather sweet deal :)

Also, Grim, i will only have 250, the hard drives will be mirrored so everything that is on one drive, will also be on the other (makes it soo much faster, and just in case one fails, ill have the other for backup)

i personally always overspend on a powersupply, just in case someday i decide to start running more shit inside the case,

i know a guy who went with a cheaper powersupply in the initial build, then upgraded to the audiology pro z51 etc(i forgot the model name at this current state of mind), while simultaneously replacing his GPU to a ultra high end at the time, and putting in about 2 extra USB port cards in the back, and adding a digital temperature readout, and another fan.

as a result he burned out his powersupply, and shorted out a considerable amount of the components.

so with a few exceptions you can never overspend on a powersupply is my rule.....
