Working in the MMORPG industry?

This might seem like a stupid topic, but :

What different jobs are avaliable when working in a MMORPG company, ive been trying to find out with Square Enix's play online, Mythic Entertainment and Sony Online Entertainment - unfortunately none seem to have any information as to what would be required for working there. Im not an artist, i am looking much more towards the programming/finances side - if anyone could say give a list of general positions and what educational requirements i might need i would much appreciate it.

Thanks

Chris

Well, they hire financial advisors, lawyers, accountants, any computer position you can think of, community relations managers, customer support reps, etc...

    Hi, Chris.

Not a stupid topic at all.

You might want check out Tom Sloper's site at http://www.sloperama.com/advice.html. It's probably a little more general than you're looking for. But I'm sure it'll answer a lot of your questions related to positions/education requirements.

    Good Luck.

And besides, like it or not, people do try to "win" massively multiplayer RPGs. The rules of engagement are something like this:
    * If there is a status bar, make it grow bigger
    * If there is a number, make it higher
    * If it moves, either get a mission from it or kill it
