I hate to say this, but EA has allways owned UO. From Beta to Now EA has owned the game. The only change that had made a diffrence from the game now and then was that Richard Garriott(Think thats right) was the founder on ALL the Ultima games. He had left after UO:R came out and when and founded a new game Co., NCsoft I think or something in thos lines, and has made a new a new mmorpg called Lineage. Hope this will settle you bitching about UO, It has with me.

No wonder I'm looking forward to Lineage II so much! It's created by the guy that owned the company that made the game I was addicted to before! UO! I have to meet this guy....

Richard Garriot (Lord British) was the creative mind behind the Ultima series (except Ascension) and Ultima Online. The Garriot's founded Origin Systems, Inc and sold it to EA in '92. In 2000 Richard left Origin/EA (which then simply became EA) to work on Lineage II with NCsoft. He is far from the creator of L2 and the bulk of the game was developed by others... however he is responsible for tweaking L2 to be attractive to the U.S. market. We really won't know how much tweaking has been done until the UO L2 beta begins.

My guess is the US version of Lineage2 will have a greatly increased experience rate as we are all sick of the EQ inspired level mills. If this is indeed the case L2 will be a fantastic game. Aside from the mind numbling slow level crunch L2 is superb, with a healthy dose of ferocious PvP in the end game. Then again this could be because the average Korean gamer is not a trammie.

Yes, if you are a fan of richard garriot, lineage is defineately going to be something for you to enjoy. What EA did to him was totally unfair, and I'm glad that he's doing well regardless. The fact stated above is simply proved by looking at your pre uot2a boxes and you'll notice the EA symbol on the box. However, I would not totally forget about UXO quite yet. I still think this game holds plenty of potential and even though it lacks in the pvp department quite a bit so far, I think they'll see the light in that matter upon release.
