Beta Testers?

in City of Heroes

Is anyone on here a beta tester for this game?  I have been REALLY interested about its potential.

I wanted to know if there was any good PvP considering you can only be a "hero."

 

Anything you have to say about the game would also be appreciated.  I'm trying to find a new game worth latching onto for a long time.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

    sins you can only be a HERO .. there well be no PvP in this game at all.

    but there was a dission about a villan expansion down the line some where but this well not be in the game when it releases, but that leaves us a possibality that you mite see PvP after 1 year or 2 but dont count on it.

    Beta testing has not started for City of Heroes. I am looking forward to participating in beta just because this is a new idea for an MMO and it could be really good or really bad.  From what I've read so far, there will be no PvP.  You just fight against NPC enemies.  I was impressed on their site though when I saw that there was not just 1 group of bad guys, instead there are several which will add to the game a lot.  Not much info is out there on this game except what is on their website.  I would go check it out if you haven't already.  Also, just keep checking on their site for beta info or just check here since this site has everything :)

    O ya...grouping is also possible in the game and from what I read it sounds like they encourage it.  Maybe guild-like features are also implemented.  Not sure though.  Post if you know please.

    Beta has started and there has been 2 waves I believe. 100 the first time and 200 invites the second. The game will have both solo and group (superhero team) content in it. There is suppose to be a fame factor that will be both for individual and team.  The best thing to do for in depth information though is to visit the forums at City of Heroes. There are a few threads there that should give specific information that is needed.

    I doubt it will be a year or two before the villians are introduced. I just like the whole concept of the game. PvP is always a demanded feature in MMO's so I wouldnt be suprised to see a battle arena or some sort in the initial release.

    Ya, that would be a good idea.  Not straight out PvP but instead just have a fun arena where all the heroes can duel each other

    I hope i get into the next beta, the testing has only been for other companys, none yet for just wondering players. They want to make the beta top notch!!!

    To me at least, PvP doesn't determine a game.  In some games, PvP wrecks it because that's all people do, PvP, PvP, and more PvP.  What really determines a game is PvE, which includes more gameplay options.  Graphics are also an added bonus.  So, to me, CoH looks good, even without any PvP at launch.

    Whenever a release date is announced with an MMO, you can always expect it to be delayed.  With most games, they always push back release a couple times...it would be an added bonus if one time they didn't image

    They have to have some element of PvP even if everyone is heroes. I mean, haven't they read Marvel Comics???

    acctually they will have a pvp arena in the first realease or a very resent update after the first release they said

    OK IM SORRY IF THIS IS OFF-TOPIC BUt...............I am poor...yes poor.I barely could afford a computer and any games for it. So I wanted to know if anyone knows this question..will there be a Public Beta for us poor people? I mean I dont get a allowance or anything so I wont be able to pay 14.00...at the age of 13.PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A PUBLIC BETA!!!!!!!!!PLEAAAAAAAASE

    There will be NO public or open beta. Sorry.

    What you CAN do is buy the "pre-order" disc which will get you into the last phase of beta right before launch.

    Thats the best you'll get.
