I'd like to disagree. While the game itself, doesn't have a real community(Like a few MMORPG's have), WoW do have some 'smaller' individual communities, be they server, alliance, or guild communities.

The WoW community is divided by people's view and treatment of skill and individualism. Some people who play, making their own type of build, instead of the pre-made builds offered by veteran playersn and wish to be identified by the build. Unfortunately, majority of communities disagree because many have reach the endgame content and have found their class lacking in areas they had to specialize in. So they are confused by the players' optimism and amused by naivity to the game overall mechanics. Thus, individualism is met ridicule. Individual arguments include topics like Class Lore/Description, Player expectation vs. experience and class suggestions.
Skill is mocked by twinks, exploiters and copycats, which is a sensivity subject to hardcore players. Twinks, exploiters and copycats try to find varies methods to be better without apply a lot of effort. They believe skill has nothing to do with working in game mechanics, but exploit an opporunity, be a glitch/bug or a favor of the month class. Hardcore players are players who work within the system, but try to find ways to diverse the gameplay. Hardcore players equal big-head like the Twink, exploiters and copycats because they believe 1) Everyone takes or should take inspiration from them and 2) Not using methods that are not within the class's limit is consider dishonorable, newbish and unskilled. Skill argument include topics like How to play your class, Guide to make Builds, Learn2play, Class vs. Class, and Nerf XXX-Class.
90% of the community post on the forums while 10% never touch the boards. Only that 10% are the one who are shining example of good player behavior, but the population of such individuals is so small that majority attitude speaks for the community. While the majority is never politically incorrect, those players do respresent Blizzard lack of control over their own community as well as the lack of customer service.
Originally posted by Adam1902 I disagree 100% Here on the EU servers, the community is quite outstanding, and its one of the greatest online communities ive ever been part of. Just to let you all know, im playing EU-Sunstrider, and on here, its very friendly. Everyone always helps eachother out, and are always happy to help. It seems to me, that alot of people who play the US servers (This goes for any game) seem to not like the community, im glad to be European!
that is True, EVE online used to be played by Euros mostly, when the US base players joined, alot of pirates emerged ( not to mention there used to be pirates, but not as much as nowadays ).
the thing is that European players are mostly mature and old people, unlike US players who are mostly kids.

Nope, that last sentence isn't true or at least I have to correct it. Most of the US players, young and old, are immature. A 32 year old man is just as immature as his 12 year old son playing the game. It's very hard to distinguish the two. TRUST ME ON THIS!

Finding a community in any game is difficult. Some of my best MMO only friends are from WoW, as much as I dislike the overall game now I would still be playing if a certain guild still existed. We still talk on vent a lot, but it isn't hte same if you are not playing the same game ; ;.
So, ya...finding a great community in any game is hard, not exclusive to WoW. Actually that goes for real life also...

OUCH! True but ouch!
I have played WoW off and on since launch, I have met some great people and a few idiots. But overall most people are helpful and happy to help when they can.
DOAC is still the MMO I judge other games by, My first and still my favorite.
I agree with the difference between EU and US servers... check it out in guildwars if you want...
When I played Guild wars in the summer.... America had favour 90% of the time... Europe nearly never had time in ToA... When School started, at a certain time, Europe had favour for 6-9 hours till the kids came home

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.
