What's with the Chuck Norris jokes?

I’m not sure if this has been addressed other posts, so I apologize
if this is a repeat. What’s up with people flooding game chat with Chuck Norris
jokes? I’ve seen it in World of Warcraft, EVE Online, and a couple other games.
What is this new fascination with Chuck Norris? Did he win some type of award,
run someone over with a car, or what? Can someone please explain this to me?

Nah, its just some stupid fad that people are into. People love random humor and apparently chuck norris got used in somone's wierd random joke that made no sense and it just caught on all over the internet.

Ah, ok I understand. I'm surprise the youngsters even know who he is, hehe. I think his career peaked with the movie Firewalker though.

from what my friends tell me, there are a huge amount of sites with all those stupid jokes, im sure youve heard them so i wont quote any, but ive heard just about every one just online. im sure if you type it in a search engine it will bring up a few joke pages with his name on it.

I thought it was because of  the Conan show where he pulls the chuck norris lever and shows a random clip and every laughs. Or maybe that was after. I dont know, but i think chuck norris jokes are pretty funny, they arent perverse or racist or anything, just silly.

Well I mean a few of them make me chucklenorris, but most of them are pretty bad. My only problem with them is the fact that way too many ppl just spam that crap in OOC channels in MMOs nowadays. Drives me insane.

Ya I think this had something to do with it. Those clips were so hilarious, I cant believe some of the writing for Texas Ranger. "Walker told me I have cancer."

First off, Chuck Norris is kewl. He kicks ass irl and in movies and TV and he's just an all around hero. Personally I think the Chuck Norris jokes are a good "stick up your a$$" detector. In other words, those people who seem to have that particular problem get annoyed by the Chuck Norris jokes. One good roundhouse kick would solve that.

First off, no. Personally I think the whole thing is stupid. In other words, these jokes might have been funny 15 years ago.

I believe it has something to do with saturday night live showing a skit that dealt with chuck morris, it was pretty funny and people began posting chuck norris is "god" jokes after that. I don't have a link but just google it and i'm sure you'll find it. Not sure about conan though, he might just be feeding off the success of saturday night live.

oh and i should add the whole point of the jokes is to annoy the hell out of people that can't grasp why other would be posting such things of an old, almost unheard of anymore actor.

I'm a fan of Chuck Norris too, but I agree with Spathotan on this.  I don't care if people make jokes about Chuck, but when people keep a bad thing going it becomes annoying. It's like that drunk guy at a ballgame trying to keep the wave going.
