ramen noodles

DekronDekron Member UncommonPosts: 7,359
I'm sitting here at work eating my dinner of creamy chicken ramen noodles and I start to reminisce about my old poor poor days of ramen being every meal of the day.  I ended up buying the 101 ways to eat ramen book and added about 50 of my own.  Just curious the strangest ways everyone has eaten the noodles of poverty.  One of my favorites was poor mans spaghetti...ramen with a little butter and garlic salt with about 5 tablespoons of ketchup.

Are you joking?! Ramen Noodles are expensive! I have no stove so I have to get the cup kind and boil up some water in a coffee cup and then wait 5 minutes. I love em though. This is a pretty random thread.image

wanna hear something really gross.  About 5 years ago before I got married and I was broke as all hell I got hungry.  I opened up my checkbook and I had a 5 cent balance.  So I proceeded to open my freezer to see what there was to eat.  I had two eggo waffles.  I looked in my cabinet to find some syrup but found none...waffles were shot...but I found a can of tuna in my cabinet.  I looked in my fridge to find some mayo and looked back in cabinet for some bread...I had neither one...tuna sandwich shot down as well.  But in my fridge there was a vanilla snack pack....yippee!  But that wouldn't fill me up so I had to substitue.  1 can of tuna + vanilla snack pack + 2 eggos = tuna sandwich! lol...it's taste was...uhh interesting.

I ate soooo many freakin' roman noodles back in college that my stomach literally quivers when I see a pot of that crap boiling on the stove.  But what can ya do, I mean the only thing cheaper would be to go outside and make a freakin' mudpie for dinner.

also note: For free drinks we (roommates and I) would all save up .30 cents, put it together and buy ONE large lemonade from the fast food joint up the street.  This place gave free refills so all of us would take turns going in, getting a free refill, then come out and dump it in a large jug.

I tell ya, when you're down an' out- you'll come up w/just about any strategy to get a leg up.

My friend ate waffles with taco bell sauce. I tried it and it was good. I'm never going to eat it again though, it's just wrong.
