If no one has noticed, I'm kind of new here, and as you can see from my signature I seek social experiences which means I'd love to get to know you people a little bit image

What kind of music are you passionate about?

I was going to make a Poll but considering the myriad of genres out there I'm not going to . 

I'll start with myself I guess! I listen to.....everything.......but my passion is......probably dream trance, ambient, intelligent techno, like Orbital...With a scoop of new age, new wave(Erasure), classical(anyone heard of Hovhaness?), industrial(love the Mortal Kombat soundtrack), etcetera! Prefer live concerts to mp3s.

    Pearl Jam is my favorate. Then its Pink Floyd. I missed Pink's last tour because of a seriously painful tooth...missing that tour has scarred me for life. I am very broad on music though. I can't stand pop, alternative pop, R&B, Rap, Dance, punk, and def metal. Pop up a little Def Leppard or some Whitesnake, maybe a little Nirvana, or the Who and I can go on for hours on end just savoring the memories.image

    I am pretty much open to anything except country mucis and rap.  Good I hate those two...country makes you want to kill yourself and rap makes you want too kill other people!  And I love the original Mortal Combat soundtrak that one rocks...gotta love Star Dust too.  I guess one of my favs is Pink Floyd A momentary Lapse of Reason.

    I can listen to everything except new country (i can take the old stuff like bluegrass and stuff).  I listen to alot of punk, but I also like the older stuff (Jimmy Hendrix, Pink Floyd, ect). imageimageimage

    I can't stand people who listen to game or anime soundtracks.image People ask "What is your favorate soundtrack?" and they answer "OoOo! Matrix Reloaded and Cowboy BeBOP!"

    I usually agree...but the mortal combat movie soundtrack is awesome

    i dont see whats wrong with liking those soundtracks. cowboy bebops got a good soundtrack, the only jazz-type music i like. and game soundtracks are ther best, ive only bouth the lotr soundtracks before though.

     I listen to a vast amount of rock. Don't understand how rap is good, country is just plain bad. Techno has no skill, it's just made on a computer(although i must say the mortal kombat song and a few other techno songs are crazy awesome image).

     Right now i just downloaded Soil - Pride and that's an awesome song if you like rock image.

    Ok, I guess I'll be the designated defender of Rap on here.  Everytime there's a thread about music people don't only post how much they hate rap, but also add some type of stereo type to it.  Meh...oh well, I enjoy it so to each his own.

    I also enjoy a select few rock songs/bands, classical (ya SD!), spanish salsa dancin' types, R&B, and a few jazz songs.

    basically anything but classical image. mostly like rock and techno alot though. some rap is alright

    Hmm, I guess I'll respond with band types since categories are so often blurred and totally debateable anymore.

    My favourite music has to be bands like Iced Earth(w/ Barlow), Blind Guardian, In Flames, Slayer, Testament, Demons & Wizards.  Now I'm pretty sure that about 99.9% of people have never heard of those bands (except maybe slayer) they fit in the power & thrash metal disciplines.

    I like mainly "techno" and classical.  I spin Happy Hardcore, Trancecore/Freeform, Trance and a few other types...  you can check me out here...

    I love everything from UK Speed Garage, Trance, HHC, House, Chicago House, some types of Breaks, DnB, Jungle... the list is to big. ;)  I also make a lot of my own music too...  I think I'm pretty decent.

    ICED EARTH RULES !
    They are a great band, with more than decent music, cept maybe sometimes the long anthems of music kinda hurts to hear when in a hurry.

    ... and thats all I gotta say about that.

    imageyeah your sort of right, the ramones are good, misfits are pretty awesome meh Transplants are also pretty good, NOFX, Bad Religion, Offspring, Pennywise and thats basically most of the stuff i listen to ....

    I used to enjoy punk. But NOFX split in August and punk is dead now. Good Charrolete and New Found Glory are not punk. They are posers.

     

    Also Blink 182 aren't punk or rock. They are a bunch of late 30s singing [and REALLY sucking at the drums and Bass] about teenagers.
