Wow definately beats only good part about GW is quests and it takes like 30mins to get party memberz for missionz and missionz are long and just feels like navigating throu map whole time.. and pvp just felt un-ingaging

first , level 20 means nothing

you didnt even got to 20% of the game

did you unlock all the 600 skills ? i dont think so ...

did you made a team build of 64 skills and win something like the hall of heros or gvg battle ? i dont think so

Guild Wars is superior in every way except the fact that it's not a true MMO.  If you want a TRUE MMO then Guild Wars isn't really an option.  But if you want a really good MMO'ish CRPG that is a lot of fun Guild Wars is better.

They're similar.  But Guild Wars isn't really an MMO.

Now, if I were just looking at 2 games, I'd probably go with Guild Wars (they really need to put out a free trial though.  There are a lot of folks like me who won't shuck out $50 unless there's a trial first).

Like I said, it's a matter of gameplay taste and neither game is better than the other because they are not the same kind of game and, therefore, the same kind of game experience will not be encountered.  What might matter to many, doesn't matter to others at all.
Take this research survey here for example:

    http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/
under "For current MMORPG Players: Participate in the current survey."

here's my most important stats (4 or higher):
collecting, customizing, exploreworld, findstuff, group3, percents, immersed, escaping, help

As you can see, hardly anything relates to competing, intense combat, or much less, pvp.  What I like is to discover mostly, and until gamers come to terms that a game is not just about combat, and that it opens the door to many more varied things other than that, we will see these specific goal-oriented discussions of better or worse.
I too have my own opinions about many games, but I do not consider them to be necessarily anymore correct than others.  For example, what's with all the emphasis on competing and pvping?  There's plenty of that in real life, so why play a game for that alone?  It's a dog-eat-dog world out there in case you haven't noticed yet (or haven't of yet started a full-time job and paying your own bills).  From my perspective, it makes no sense.  You see, the last thing I want to find in my game is any resemblance to real life and that includes testing, competition, dominance, who beats who, who's ranking higher, yadda, yadda.  But, u see, for you who enjoys that, it does.  And that's why there are different kinds of games, and in each good game, there are many ways of playing it.

Just find what you need in whatever game you enjoy. Anyways, I'm at the office, and I need to do some work!  Game on!
    Peace

Having played both Guild Wars and World of Warcraft, I'd have to say both have their high points.  The only reason I do not own WoW myself is because I know if I must pay monthly to play that I will neglect my studies and such.  Guild Wars is nice because it has free online play so those playing do not feel as if they have to "get their money's worth" so to speak.

i agree with what you say if you are talking about FPS like battle field 2 and games like it .... becose

guildwars is not about pvp , its about team work, thats where it shines , a team build is not just for pvp , its for pve , exploring , questing and all

actualy im almost sure that there is more people that only play pve in gw , pvp is a small part of it , its hard and requires a lot of team planing , its not something that you can do easyly.

you can go to random arenas for a fast pvp match , but without experience you will be owned everytime

you need the team work experience to be any good in pvp , and the pvp experience is diferent from the pve , skills combinations are much more wide in pvp , mobs are easy to beat after you know how its done , in pvp , humans are always bringing new stuff

you may say the pve content is small and can be done fast , but i know , im playing it for 11 months , that it can be played slow as well , and the main goal in pve is to meet people , fit in a group , find the guild where you can have friends and team mates , to go to other level of pve content that you cant go alone or with the henchys ,,... and the way i see it , pvp is above all .. its the ultimate challenge , but there is no need at all to play it , you can have fun in pve for a year just like i did . people is what count , the rest is scenario.

Hehe, neo, my good friend, I never said that guildwars was about pvp.  Though some have said so in this thread (and others), I believe that maybe you misunderstood what I meant, or perhaps I didn't make it clear enough myself.  I apologize, I mentioned it to point the fact that many of the things that many people play games for do not matter for other players whatsoever. Pvp being a huge reason why so many people play games, it was a very good example to demonstrate how my opinion about it and my reasons for gaming can be drastically different from those who prefer that type of gameplay.

So, allow me to make it clear:

guildwars is not about pvp only!

    , peace!

    got it

yeah from what i understood from your post was that you didnt like guildwars becose it was pvp based , and you dont like pvp for those reasons i agree.

guildwars lacks virtual turism , you explain it very well , we are almost forced to be desvastating mobs every second if we want to advence in the map. there are a few places if you are a runner , where you can just run around without killing anything , stop at a view point and enjoy the view ... but not much of those , its true .

    its a action game.

but i believe that with all those chapters coming , guildwars 2 , guildwars 3 , guildwars 4 , guildwars 5 ... etc ... diferent kinds of game play will always come , i think the chill out version will come ... more open areas ... i dont see why not.

Loss from graphics, server stability, lore I would say it  as this:

GW: YOU are important, the way you play, the skills you choose, the group you make - that defines if you are succesful or not.

WoW: You success is your gear, potions, enchants and other stuff you collect - NOT so much you as a player.

In traditional MMORPG you success is a function of time invested into game. That's not the case with GW - more important is how much you use your brain cells.

    Guild Wars for the win.
I must say though is kinda hard to really compare the two games. They are so much different in most aspects of game play. I just prefer GW over WoW because it emphasised skill, intelligence and strategy over farming the best mobs for 200 hours to get the best gear so you can just walk over a bunch of people who don't have that kind of time. On the other hand WoW wins in the pve area since GW pve is pretty short, mission based (which isn't a  bad thing) and linear.

One last thing, I can't believe people are still haveing this discussion.

I would definitely have to say Guild Wars, however it depends on what your looking for in an MMORPG.

I think guild wars is better, I've played both but I definitely think that guild wars is better.  It has more options and skills.

I guess its all opinion but I definitely like Guild Wars more....Although every1 I talk 2 says that WOW is better

Id go with guild wars, but thats just me

This is the wrong topic to ask this in. This is a Guild Wars forum, which is contributing a huge amount of bias to the poll. I'm guessing many of the people who voted have never even played WoW before by the way they hammer on monthly fees, but I could be wrong. The way I look at it, you pay for what you get, and WoW gives a lot more than Guild Wars. I would mention WoW's lag issues, but GW is probably worse.

Don't get me wrong, I am an avid Guild Wars player, but I also play WoW equally as much and I can see a huge difference.
