But that doesn't give me info on the difference of pvp is the classical server better becuase of the no /level command and because it restricts buff bots? So the classical servers are more genuine pvp because of the no bots? or is the pvp server better because it doens't have "carebear" rules?

Normal Server = Hard (you gotta invest alot of time to get your toon uber, harder to find lower level groups)You will see alot more features that are'nt in the normal servers, however to survive, bots required and alotof questing. ..Merlin or Lancelot Servers recommended st start a new toon..

Classic Servers = Normal (direct and to the point, no bots needed and not much PVE content as the Normal Servers, however, easier to find groups of people around your level to RvR with) Gareth Server is the way!

Co-op Servers = Free to roam the 3 Continents and team with other factions hib/alb and mids do to quests. Striclty for the PvE player.

PvP Server = Goodluck (Anything Goes)

IMO, this is what DAoC to me, I may be missing alot, but just trying to get you the rundown quick.

I do not think I am understand what information you want.  So let me put it this way:

    1.  There is no "better" server.  If there was, then that would be the only server type.  There are different rules on different servers meant to attract a different part of the player base.

    2.  We need to distinguish a few terms: RvR - realm versus realm.  PvP - player versus player in an unrestricted form, PvE - player versus enviroment.

So what are you asking about?  Are you asking is the RvR better on the Classic servers versus the normal servers?  Are you asking about RvR on Classic versus pure PvP of the PvP server?

The normal servers have more PvE content.  It also has established communites.  It has the /level command which saves you a lot of time and gets you to the first populated battle ground a lot faster.  It is easier to get buffs.  At low levels you will have a slightly harder time finding groups.  It is not impossible, it just takes a little longer.  The RvR is different because of a wider variety of abilities and items that are available on that server.  Further, all balance decisions are based on this server type.

The Classic servers have less PvE content.  People think of it as more "RvR" server.  It depends on the perspective.  Not having access to certain abilities makes playing the PvE or RvR part of the game a lot harder for many classes.  No Brittle guards makes archers even more dominate on the Classic servers.  Not having access to power fonts makes casters in a worse position, espically animists.  No heal font sucks because you are going to die faster.  You need to rely far more on having a good and dedicated healing class in your group.  You also need to stay very close to the healers or you are going to loose buffs.  So if your assassin goes a little too far in trying to get a kill, your buffs will fall.

PvP server is exactly like the normal server, but you can kill or be killed by anyone not in your alliance and in almost everyzone.  Even if you are doing an instance someone can come in and gank you.

If you're primarily a PVPer, you should not consider the 'normal' servers at all, as you'll have to do PVE raids to be competitive in endgame PVP.
