OK guys they only annoced this gmame like 4 months ago so them telling us abput how to use the guild creation or UI is like telling us how a black hole works when they havent even finished that part yet! So I wonder how you can sit there and go we need more info i agree i wish we had more but its only been 4 months since they anounced it i mean look at half-life 2 it took them 2 years 2 finaly give all the info on it after they annouced it! So all these complants are just but not at this day and time its just stupid!

*cough* E3 2005 *cough*
The game was announced in may 2005. that makes it 11 months ago.
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
No dumbass that is the day they bought the liceanse to make it! the evidence
But this link shows technicaly we are both wrong but my point stands just look at the date! more evidence
Learn to read dates before you argue!
Trying to get your post count up or can't figure out how to use the keyboard?
Well actually if you go to www.warhammeralliance.com I believe it is they seem to be just a little ahead on the curve but not much. Marc Jacobs is apparantly a dev for W.A.R. that frequents there. It's where I first learned about the races before they popped on this website.
Not arguing though. The whole comparison thing is a bit annoying. It's not gonna be like WoW or DAOC. It's gonna be like W.A.R. And no matter how much we delve into the sights and forums what we perceive and what we'll see when beta comes out will be 2 entirely seperate things
first. A hertfelt thanks for your gratitious insults. Also, do you think the companies just met up at E3 and randomly bumbed in each other and GW said "Hey, Mark! we have this license up for sale, wanna take it?" "sure! why not?". Of course negotiations were made BEFORE the event, that might or might not include a presentation on Mythic part. point is they knew of the license before E3, that is just the place where they made the public announcement. I also don't see in your "evidence" any mention of the date when they started working on the project. oh wait! there isn't! guess why?
Example: World of Warcraft was in the work since 2000. When it was announced? http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/worldofwarcraft/news.html?sid=2810134&mode=news
ECTS 2001. and they had enough material to have a preview. Screenshots and even a "working" engine. quote "World of Warcraft has been in development for a little more than a year, but no release date will be announced during the early development process"
Second, maybe you know how games are made, maybe you don't, but if you don't, let me enlightens you.
The first phase any game goes trough is the writing of the Design document(s) in which the developers outline all the various things they want to have in their game. In this section it come out what kind of game they make, PvE, PvP, RvR, housings, class or lack of, skills, how combat work, crafting, magic, you name it, is in the Design document.
The document is in no way final and usually graphics artists and sound people are already working on making assets that surely will be needed in the game (for example, orks, dwarves, humans models, certain landscapes and other things that will be in the game no matter the design). During the realization phase, the document is revisited multiple time if A) an idea is proven to be unfeasible in the realization phase or an idea that was good on paper is found out to be not so good in practice.
Asking for more information at this point is not silly. the devs already have a good idea how the game would be. in addition feedback on such ideas NOW can make the biggest difference as nothing is really set in stone at this point.
Of course the devs will be reticent to say much, because of that same motive, but still.... what's wrong in asking more info? we are all dying for this game.
finally. Have a nice day.

um did u happen to read the nice bold dates on the top of the evidence the liceance says uh what now may 18, 2005 and i never said they didnt talk about it before but aloso asking for more detail is not my main arguement what i am saying is how the hell can u say its a wow clone when war inspired wow and d&d and most other rpgs its nice and simple plus if you read the other evidence it says in the fisrt paragraph that it was FORMALLY ANNOUNCED on that date pls read evidence more through mr. attrony of gaming law.
ty and you have a nice day too.
Warhammer Online Information
war inspired wow and d&d and most other rpgs
umm... all i have to say is ????????
Dungeons and Dragons, in the RPG sense is the grand-daddy of them all, having borrowed liberally from the Lord of the Rings (you know, the books) it was the first mass produced RPG in what was to become a vast many-media genre.... the development of figs came a fair bit after the game, and the development of figs is what lead to warhammer.
anyway... i'm looking forward to seeing what this game has to offer, having played EQ EQII WoW and lots of non-MMO's
art looks good, ideas sound good, will execution also be good? time will tell
"We aren't going to ... Period. End of statement."
ya. ok. whatever.
but what do i know, i'm only a vanbois i'm told.
I just think the whole comparison thing is silly. Game companies get ides from other game companies. And then the first game company gets newer ideas from the second game company that got ideas from them in the first place.
So all comparisons aside, WAR is going to be WAR and not WOW or EQ-clone, or Guild Wars or anything else that's been made.
It's going to be gritty and violent and a hell of a lot of fun, and thats all the comparison it needs.

This is your original post. I took the liberty to highlight the part i want you to focus on.
YOU started saying that is bad to ask for more info. NEVER you said anything about doing comparisons between WoW, WAR and D&D if not in the thread title, ignored becaused it had nothing to do with what you wrote in the post itself. the post was all about "it is bad to ask for info so early in development cycle?". I'll answer in any case. Yes, it is silly to make comparisons between this game and WoW or DDO or DAoC.
I'm merely answering. "No, it isn't". you seems to agree now, so i wonder what was the point of making this thread in the first place.
As for your "evidence" the dates is when the press release was... released. NEVER in there says that the game had started to be developed in day XXXX. So, i read the whole of the press releases, is this enough for you?
So, case closed. it is not silly nor stupid to ask for informations about this game so early in the development cycle. Even better, we just got a 5 pages juicy preview sating much of our appetite for this game... or actually.. making us even more ravenous.
Have a nice day.

I'm happy, though I"m craving that April newsletter. Come out NOW!! I want to know MORE!!!
The demand to know more just shows how popular the game is already.
