How do you gain Rank?

Hi!

I'm new here and I apologize if this is not the proper place to post my query, but I was wondering how do I gain ranks as a member? I wanted to hype an upcoming MMOG, but couldn't, since my rank is zero. Which rank is needed for hyping games and how do you acquire ranks in the first place? Thanks in advance!

As for your second question, i believe you need to achieve the second rank, that won't take long, before you can post reviews or rate games.

This has been done to avoid the hordes of fan/hatebois that would create hundreds of fake accounts just to rise/lower some game ranking. Yeah, there are such crazy people around.

Fantastic idea. I hope more sites will follow this procedure. This way you can actually see the  rating based on the opinion of the people who are involved in MMOGs and whose input actually matters. Awesome.

Speaking of rank, what happened to mine?

I was at 4 stars last I checked, then I logged in today and lost it all.

A long period of inactivity will reduce your rank.

Since rank computation is done every 30 days, if you are inactive for that amount of time, your rank would decline -- yet it will rise again with renewed activity.

Wow. So only 3 weeks time will reduce your rank from 60+ to zero? Tough times.
