I can't really see how LA could have SWG run by SOE and another SW MMO run by another company. Unless they were entirely different game types, there would be a conflict of interest. Threesomes always end in tears
The NGE could be considered a completely different game than the origional SWG we bought and played. It would be an easy out for Lucas Arts / Sony to A. Let another company have a crack at the origional SWG concept and B. would save a lot of headaches having anohter company doing it with the outcry of "I'm not touching it if #OE has anything to do with it". #OE gets to keep its craptastic version and the 12 year old insta-want-it-now peeps, and the players who enjoy complexity ge the new version. I for one wouldnt be against that type of setup. Let mom and dad pay for option A. I will be happy to pay for option B.
As a side note, before the flameing starts, when I say insta-want-it now it doesnt apply to all 12 year olds... You guys know who you are.

What do you mean by want it now ? From what I hear it is impossible to lvl from 1-90 now . Besides they show enough integrity to be willing to pay for a game , that will not be finsihed until a year from now .

It's hardly impossible, I got my Jedi to level 90 from level 1 with 3 months of casually playing him. A friend in my guild got his done in 3 weeks.
I think that SWG is much better with the NGE. I've played since 2003 and always enjoyed it, but even as a slow-paced player I was running out of things to do and getting uninterested. The new content is great, the new combat system isn't ideal, but it's better than the old system, and the game runs a lot smoother now that they've changed the way the servers handle data. I'm having more fun with SWG than I ever did in the 2 years prior. If you are hardcore for turn-based systems, try KOTOR I and II, or FFXI.
So, i just arrived at work to find this thread and this statement from SOE's PR dept..."be prepared to hear some griping from the 'die hard player base' but don't pay any attention to them, the game really is much better now". Well quite frankly (and this is way toned down for the benefit of not upsetting this sites patrons) Fuck you SOE, fuck you and damn you to hell, you violated us and now boast about it, i curse you and i will now never stop until everyone knows how you use your customers. You are one of the worst companies i have ever had the misfortune to come in contact with, you hold your customer base with disdain, you have no understanding of customer service or loyalty. I know SOE employees and lawyers read these pages, so i'm now telling you, i was on the verge of giving up, i'd had enough of banging my head against this brick wall. But now....
Oh but the game is soooooooo much better now. Just look at the sale's reviews and ratings. The NGE is climbing those sale's charts like a mofo, due to the huuuuuuge amount of new players attracted by the Star Wars-y and Iconic career paths..............

What is so short-sighted about this is that, if there really is a huge fanbase looking for a dumbed-down version, it is going to lack the attention span to continue playing it for any length of time -- certainly not the length of time that most pre-CU players had. It's a short-term goal in a business that should be looking for long-term revenue, and completely in character for the bafoons who are running the show at SOE.
