Mech warrior 3 was my first online addiction. I never really played the single player. I can't even remember the site where you would find games. I loved that game.
I know that the Force of Arms project and people are strongly interested in the feedback from gamers. They refuse to develop a game in the Microsoft/SOE model (where they are deaf to their audience). I know that they hope to produce a game for gamers and people who want to actually feel like they have an impact on the game and setting. I'm starting to sound like a salesman, so I'll stop there. Haha

Where did you read this? there have been a few official announcements stating that NO mechwarrios game is in production. There may be a mechassault based game in production, but no Mechwarrior 5.
I got kinda excited when I saw the link to that game above...but when I went to the site it looks like yet another of those games with great intentions but one that we will never see. Here's to hoping I am wrong.
Anyone looking forward to Chrome Hounds? I know its not neccessarily an MMO so to speak, but its a mech game and you can play it online. I, for one, am looking forward to it. my X360 is patiently waiting.
FASA is no longer owned by microsoft.. the rights were baught by the guy who created it, and he has a new company called smith&tinker. includes mechwarrior, shadowrun, and crimson skies.
theres an article on slashdot.org about it, and that the new company was highering game deisngers....
maybe, finally we will get a true mechwarrior MMO. the rule sets/values are there, the art is there...hell even some of the models and textures may be there as well.
Smith&Tinker licensed the MW IP along with a bunch of other old IP's from FASA catalog, they didn't buy them off from Microsoft
I'd rather have the possible new MW game as online multiplayer sim instead of mmorpg, but if they would make it mmosim i would have the biggest nerdgasm ever.
Anyway, at least now someone is doing something with the IP, licensing it from M$ without intention of using it would be pointless.

this is a good news for somebody want a professional to manage the funny games, so I wish there will be more and more people who like to play the game.
No, as I said in the previous post, Smith&Tinker just licensed the IPs from Microsoft, M$ still owns them.

Smith & Tinker is pleased to announce that it has licensed from Microsoft the electronic entertainment rights for Mr. Weisman's previous creations of MechWarrior, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies and the other properties of the FASA catalog. We're not quite ready to announce our plans for each property, but please be assured that our goal is to surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds.

My shadowrun suspicions seem to be semi-confirmed.

As much as we all want to hear news about a new mechwarrior game, it just isn't happening right now.
