Community .... What Community!!

You know, I can go whole evenings without anything appearing in my chat window.

Is it me or is the community on Wind pretty shite?

I try to add some spice to things with emotes and comments on what's going on but nobody responds ... EVER.

When I played AO it was a full time job keeping up with what was going on the chat window. I love the game but the community could well force me out, half the fun of MMORPGs is interacting with people. It just don't happen for me in Horizons.

I joined a guild to have more social interaction. Worked for me.... now if the lag would go away...

Aye, guild is the way to go, well, I kinda cheated, I brought my guild with me to the game, which makes it even better, people who have been through 4 games together now. :)

Find channels that have activity in them. This is a new game, so the communities have to develop. They already are on the servers I play on...slowly.

Nod, on Energy we have a couple server wide channels that are fairly active, General, Marketplace, Construction etc. Checking the server forums for your server on either the IGN boards or tazoon.com boards is a good place to find out if your server has any such channels.

Guilds really do make a difference here. If you're looking for social interaction, local chat ain't it, save for the occasional emote or 'thks' when someone passes by and buffs or heals you.

I, too, convinced several of my MMOG gaming friends to come on board and try this, and we've only been at it three weeks now and are having a blast teaming up for hunts! We've picked up a couple of players along the way who liked our gameplay style and we keep it lively.

I'd say find a guild of players and try joining in. If the guild isn't to your liking, try another one. Playing solo definately isn't going to keep this game interesting for very long.

If at first you don't succeed, pay someone who will.

Aye, I'd have to agree. Guilds are the way to go in HZ. Although, announcing about wanting to group in towns is a good way to meet new people too. I wish they had official forums though (I don't count that stupid IGN crap as the "Official" forums). Also, it'd be nice if they added taverns or something to the towns.

check out the forums at www.tazoon.com, MUCH more helpful than the IGN crap, they were the "Official" beta forums but when the game went live AE went where the money was or somethign and switchid to IGN. Lotsa useful info and helpful people there.

I joined a great guild called Legions of Loki and the chat situation has improved 1000%.

I have found that on Shadow most use chat windows.  There are normally 10+ people in the crafting chat window.  Most interact with people across the server vs in the local towns...so I would suggest trying one of the chat rooms.  Also guild chat will increase your interaction as well.

Also, if you look rigth next to yer chat input line there is a buttan named "list channels" that will list every channel in the game and also show how many ppl in it at the moment.

Chat in Horizons seems to be disappearing as fast as its player base.

The guild I belonged to was the only saving grace, and even they were not enough to keep my interest in HZ
