Good DvD burning software?

AldaronAldaron Member Posts: 1,048

Well, I recently got an external DvD burner, partly in cause of the fact that my hard-drive is getting filled up, and I need to start backing up my files.

Now I'm not sure if it's the DvD's I bought, the burner I bought, or just the plain out software that came with it. I'm leaning towards the software because I have been able to burn things onto a DvD through random trial and error. So my requestion/question is, of free or trial period downloadable DvD burning software that is effective, and for the most part bug free, to help me out in my dilemma.

I've been using Nero for burning CD's and DVD's. There is a trial for their software packages and they are able to burn and encode VCD's and DVD's as well. If you are looking to just burn data backups there may be other programs that are lighter then the Nero Burning Roms packages.

Seems nero can't/won't work with my DvD recorder. The computer will lock up until I turn the DvD recorder off.

i also use nero but i never really burn dvda anymore because my dvd player reads data files so if i burn a movie its to a cdr and if im burning seasons i burn it to a dvd split into folders so much nicer this way.
