Dont know if u guys seen this yet.

I was really happy when I first read this thread from the official swg forums. If these things are really in progress, then I believe this game can be playable once again for us vets.

    We've heard this all before.    Every time a patch was botched and then today on a thread called "Information on the Summit" by Obraik.  Pathetic attempt at flamebait.  Moving along!

    What is in there, that would apeal to the vets exactly?

    Are they removing level based combat system? FPS? Loot-based economy? Adding back the removed professions? Removing Jedi as starting prof?

    Besides, why would SOE want vets back. They said several times they don't want those people anymore and they should **** off.

    There was one interview where Julio said that pre-cu players are just powergamers and fanbois, and they don't want them anymore, using almost literal wording (cannot find the link right now).

    So, what exactly is the apeal for vets in such a game?

    Who the hell even cares anymore. This game is far dead. There is no chance, the only ones to believe ANYTHING they say anymore, are like those people who are still waiting for the UFO's to come pick them up and take them to their ideal world.

    Seriously though, what the hell?? I mean really that is all I said over and over while I read that??

    It look's like every other game plan they have published baiting the community into false hope before they push out some NEW pipedream to deal with.

    That entire list SHOULD have been the development cycle for the NGE BEFORE it got pushed live. Instead they are trying to come off like hero's saving everyone's favorite game after they completey burned it to the ground.

    It's like an arsenist showing back up at the house he set on fire and pulling the dog out before the place was completely engulfed and then saying he should have warned everyone first before setting the fire...

    Does anyone remeber from any of the moveis or books where some character grabbed their blaster that had +10 to intelligence or +5 to strength or +3 to accuracy? I dont... Im wondering if they aare reading those dang WoW/DandD books again while they are coding or brainstorming..

    i dont know how long you delt with SWG and SOE but this has been said a million times b4.

    they said it a million times pre cu

    they will say it a million more times NGE

    its a legel way for them to cover their asses. Kinda like a "Look judge we HAD good ideas we didnt mean to rip off the player base"

    Well, same could be said about +15 to LS experimentation, or +7 to polearm accuracy. And Vader also didn't have a force pool, or health pool.

    It's a game, games use certain mechanics to simulate world.

    No it can't because those items didn't drop off mobs, they were CRAFTED. Now SWG has Everquest style magic loot, and that is NOT star warsy OR iconic.

    Um, CA/AA were loot. Modded clothing was loot as well.

    No, it isn't playable. They'll still ahve that shit combat system. I guess you can't even sit in a bloody chair anymore.
    Not to mention I don't fucking trust SOE.

    As for SWG:

    So much hatred for SoE, and I don't blame u guys. I bailed out when everyone else was, maybe if I would have stuck in there when NGE came up I would be posting that "SoE is full of shit" and "SoE and Smed suck". I'm still a vet that hopes for SWG to somehow make a comeback, I feel sry for the people that have so much hatred for a game they once loved.

    Many of them just enjoy having something to hate.  They'll root and cheer for SWG to go down in flames and if it ever does, they'll gloat about it a while and then they'll move on to another target to funnel their negativety at.
