Guilds and Alliances

Considering the basic idea of stargate so far we know that there are "billions" of combinations of Stargate addresses...

So lets assume for a minute that the devs wont go for the linear path or something similar to SWG where theres a set number of planets you travel to but infact allow for an expansive universe with custom planets (or atleast custom buildings) to contain stargates so that guilds or custom player built alliances can create there own guild hall, or city or whatever and claim it as there own so that any random player whilst traveling between planets can key in the address (assuming they know it) and visit said guilds planet.

I think that would be extremely cool to have a guild or coallition in which you litterally control your own stargate and planet, perhaps even if you can offord it its own Iris, automated defences and so on (incase of invasion by replicators or enemy guilds or the like).

I can't imagen much cooler than gearing up with about 150 guild mates and going on a stargate raid to some guilds planet, it sounds pretty fantastic to me and it would slot in perfectly with the way the game works, hell it would work exactly like if it was instanced.

that would be pretty sweet, and like be able to tax the local population to pay for all of the stuff

then brain wash them into thinking you are a god
    or
fix an electiona nd become king / president and so fourth

and like hire or brainwash people into being gate guards/guild hall guards/palace guards and so on.

I was thinking on a smaller scale than litterally controling your whole planet... more just a single building on a random planet without the ability to go outside (to reduce server load and such).

Still, just a guild building would be cool.

But i agree with what your saying, it would be cool to be able to brainwash people and so on as they do in the films, but that would have to be on public planets not private ones i think, and only the hugest most powerful guilds should be able to do it, and i think it should be manually enforced via PvP and random NPC revolts and stuff to keep it interesting. That would add an amazing "end game".

im talin like, every guild can do it.. so like in a sence, every guild has a homeworld.. like in the movie - how every dif group has one...

in almost every time when sg1 whent on an other planet they only had busines to do around the gate but what if a guild would get a village on a random planet and you could take over other villages until you control the planet or the stargate then guild could have a planet but they have do a lot of work and guild could be evil and good like good ones will have to bay for workers but if you are a goa'uld then you could take slaves but to balance the good and evil then both sould have  good and bad sides (you know what i mean ) and building your own starfleat that would be also cool.

Thats true but still having non-instanced type areas for guilds and communities who arent just the ones which super stand out would mean that theres a limited number of Villeges capable of being taken over and the whole infastructure would need to be in at launch however having simple gate addresses can be created if and when they're needed for any size of guild/cooperation.

I think that having single gate addresses for those who want it and only allowing the guilds with members numbering in the hundreds should be allowed to take over entire planets/villeges. That leaves room for both the smaller camp of players wanting small guilds with a home and the huge guilds which always appear. And leaves room for mass PvP endgame over the planets.

That would be cool, but if there were tons of different Stargate addresses to go to that would limit the amount of character interaction in the game and that would kind of suck

The whole thought about having your own planet and raiding other guild's stargate addresses sound cool but I agree with Sau...if you have too many addresses decreases chance of running into people. That would suck.

Nah that wouldn't decease the chances of running into people at all...

The "private" Stargate addresses for guild "planets"  would be nothing more than a building if its how i'm imagening it so it wouldn't decease the chances as you wouldn't know the coordinates of these bases unless you obtained the address through some means (perhaps a PvP quest or something or when you kill an enemy guild member you get there Stargate address from the corpe).

It would work easily i think.
