Trouble is no matter how Smedley and co spin the facts there's always a nasty horrific side to it. It's a bit like a political party losing points in the polls and saying "Well 80% of our voters are first time voters!". Everybody then thinks to themselves "but if you're losing voters it doesn't matter does it?". Or a company saying "80% of our customers have been with us for 2 years or more!". Then the prospective investors think to themselves "But if you're profit margins are falling steadily what difference does it make?".
The bottom line is there's a hole in the dyke and they ran out of fingers November last year, wether you like the NGE or not is superflous.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Once again you are wrong Obraik. The game is NOT growing.
Obraik and other may see more players around but that doesnt equal growth. Its players moving from less populated servers to the few larger ones.
Smedley himself stated recently that the game was still losing players. He was happy to admit though that the loss of players was slowing down. Which in itself is a ridiculous statement because naturally player losses would slow down as there are less players left to quit.
The President of SOE states the game is losing players so I dont understand why peeps continue to think otherwise
Every game is always losing players, even WoW, that's hardly a useful point to make.
Your argument makes alot of assumptions, many of which you can't prove are true or not. When people have a reason to be in the same spot at once, its quite clear to see the game is not dieing. Look here for an example (take note of the radar too) of an unplanned event (only notice was a system message 5mins before the event happened) that happened on Chilastra at 12am EST on a weeknight. Chilastra is an eastern server, so this is not prime time for it.
