    It's both single and multiplayer, but not an MMORPG. Parties participate in "campaigns" which involve only them, and end, although they retain experience points and equipment. It is neither massive, nor persistent. It is, in fact, the Diablo model stuck onto an FPS, as near as I can tell.

    In fact, probably the simplest way to determine if something is an MMORPG is to ask, "Does it have a single-player mode?" I can't think of any true MMORPG that has a single-player mode, nor do I see how you would really make such a thing work.

    yah, Conan is single player up to level 20 (last i heard). From that point the players should have lost most of their noobyness and can go straight to the scorching magic and sharp metal things.

    I'd say that's not so much a single-player mode as a greatly extended tutorial...
