As I said, "I don't know why but I like this game". I have played nearly all other MMORPG'S and there are only 2 that I continue to play. Everquest 2 and DDO. DDO gets compared to Guildwars but I hate Guildwars. There is something about DDO. I like the dice that flashes on screen and tells you how much you hit for, if you survived the traps or if you are lucky and roll high enough of a save that your bleeding is staunched and you are still alive... just, but alive. I like the people that i play with, they are all fantastic. I like the way some are great leaders and will get a party together in no time and will take command and have us all working together as one. However, I also like it when no one is in command because it can get very funny. Even when it is all mayhem and blood and guts flying everywhere and a trap has just given you a haircut I love it.

Well, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. For me, DDO missed the mark pretty badly. Most people like the same things you mentioned: good community, cool traps, etc. But there are just too many bad qualities, like very limited content, lots of game issues (though most games at release seem to have this problem), forced grouping (IMO it should be a choice or you're wasting game time when you can't find a group), and several other things already discussed here and on the official forums.
A lot of people were disappointed by DDO, mostly because everyone in the MMO community had very high expectations of the title. But as it is, unless they can make a big turn-around, the die-hard fans aren't going to be enough to keep this game from going the way of Asheron's Call 2. They think they can keep the game alive, but with less than about 50,000 subscribers (at best) and shrinking, they're going to be hard-pressed to make a profit. The same thing happened when AC2 was released. Many people gave it a go, but it wasn't good enough to keep it alive (despite some who stayed on as their ship slowly sank into the sea of failure). With fewer people playing, it will be harder to get a group, which will make more people quit. It in turn will become ever HARDER to get a group, and the snowball just keeps rolling... Such is the way of forced grouping in an MMO...
