miners against pirates

if you r a miner and you hate pirates this is the tpic for you.


pirates piss us off by ore nicking podding and such if we want to mine safely then we need a big group of defense and its just too much profit losses for the chance they may be pirates


so im proposing that we find sum empire low sec with sum good mining and low pirate lvl and we go in in force and try to protect oursleves we maybe small but we have the numbers. pirates are not going to attack a large group its not thier style so if you know a place then let me know im working for power of the miners and im sik of having to run from pirates just because im mining and dont have my big ships out


pirates are just a nuisance so the more the merrier if you have a plus sec rating then give my char a yell im belonna on the game as well

oh you guys are halarious and yet not so funny im in a mining corp that is 2 weeks off of dreads miners can hold quite well but you guys are the ones that only attack us wen we r in barges and haulers and even then u guys ussually attack in groups god u guys are really brave attacking non millitant ship with either well set up war ships or in groups of them.

personnally i have no probs with pirates as long as they leave me alone ill leave them alone

I hunt alone and yes I always attack weaker targets than myself. When the lion attacks a herd of buffalo it attacks the weakest straggler not the bull. It just makes sense to attack barges or military ships weaker than mine, I'm in it to make cash not gamble with my ship and pod!

cairo you got us OMG how diod you know that we were going to mine with drads wat else r they used for i mean weapons are "tools of the devil" thats wat all miners think we wouldnt dream of defending ourselves we are going to go mine in a couple of dreads but we are going to be smart and fit it with t1's mining lasers too. but we wont be too dumb as you expect us to be i mean we are going to put a snowball launcher on there as well we dont want our basic mining drones to get destroyed do we.

Ok, inteligence has nothing to do with this. Here is a break down. If you turn dread into a miner, you are signing your death with by flying a slow piece of junk.

Case 1: You use weapons as primary and drones to mine. Pirates will warp in warp scramble your asses. Go under your guns and kill you a slow and painful death because your guns will not be able to hit them. Especially if they are flying a cruser and even when they do the damage will be pathetic because of signature radius difference, and don't forget that crusers can generate much greater DPS then BSes, so they will be able to kill you.

Case 2: You will use lasers to mine and drones to protect yourself. You will still get warp scrambled, but since maximum number of drones u can have per ship is 5 they will simply kill off all of your drones and then kill you.

Case 3: You just mine with lasers and drones. They will warp in, warp scramble you, and kill you.

Now the question of the day is "WHY DO THEY WARP SCRAMBLE ME??".
Answer: Cuz ur ass is too slow to warp out, if you though mining barge was slow, well wait till you fly a dread.

Argument: But I got a ton of warp strength in this dread.
Counter-Argument: True, but if you think a single pirate will attack you alone you are really out there. No, he will call 20 of his buddies and they will all come in crusers and trash your party of 6 or 7 dreads. Even if you kill 1 or 2 they just lost 20m total. If they will kill one of you.......I will leave the math to you .

A dread can carry alot and ALOT of drones, a dread has alot of low slots for warp core stabelizers, and alot of CPU. Urza123, your arguement might be correct to an extent, where it is realy foolish to mine in a dread, but the rest of it doesn't realy count.

because you can clearly see any pirate entering the system by watching the local channel, and try to get away,

on top of that, it is of the best to mine in a mining cruiser than anything else in low spec, faster to warp out if any danger occures.

EW is your best friend when covering miners. It gives the fragile ships time to warp out in case of an attack. Use one or more ships with dampeners or jammers to make your mining session a lot safer. Also, if one or more pirates are able to jump you in a belt in your barge, then you already did at least 3 bad mistakes.

Well, being nice and cozy is not among the usual definitions of a pirate. But they actually do a public service - they make the game more intereting and exciting for us all. So like them or not, but EVE would be a lot more boring without them.

Dude, if you're going to mine with Dreads I swear i will hunt you down. And the one reason Dreads are terrible miners is because they have 3 (ZOMGYAY) turret points. They only have 8 (at max) low points so that makes them easy to scramble because they align for warp so slow so seriously, do not mine in dreads.

ok i think you guys have completely missed the point of my last post. i was being sarcastic. repeat i was being sarcastic. the next thing is they wouldnt mine ne good ne way so why would we after that y if you r mining in a ship worth that much would you mine by urself so we would hacve quite a few peeps next to us for protection but trust me if i started mining in a dread i would pod me. it is a stupuid idea also y if you mkine in low sec would you start mining with out aligning ur ship for a emergency jump to ur safe spot/s. miners may mostly be weak but we arnt dumb. oh and also im just mining while i am learning for pvp so wen i get up to dreads i wont be mining that often ne way. i will probably never fly the damn thing. warp scraming would be dumb because other ppl would be there or very close so b4 you even finish off the shields you would have about 30 peeps on ur ass. but dont take this as a challenge because i dont speak for my corp i am writing this as a noob and really im no closer to dreads as i am to personally creating eve 2.
