A RAMBLE WE WILL GO

what's wrong. I will tell you. I live in australia so when i play it is off peak, not many players. So there is a lot of waiting to find a group. Now with quests, you might have say Catacombs, a long quest, now trying to find someone to help you is very hard. First off, they might be half way through, into part 3, and they don't want to do part 1 again to help you. Also, it is so hard to find people doing the same quest, so when you do get to join a party you end up doing other quests but the one you want to do. Because there is no solo content you kust have to stand around waiting to get invited. I try finding people to help me but most time i get no help. What i do is read a book, waiting for an invite. Some quests i have done to death just to do something. I also, when I can't find a group, start a new character so i can do the starter quests again, so i am doing something.

Now that, IMHO, is the definition of a disaster for a MMORPG. Turbine really didn't think this through, and I don't understand it, since my FIRST comment when I heard DDO would be forced-grouping, no solo quests and small server population caps was that this would happen. For game developers they really have shown themselves to be disconnected from the realities of an MMO, and thus they deserve to fail.

It's Turbine we're talking about.  It doesn't get much more disconnected from the MMO community than that.  Remember, these are the same brilliant people that brought us Asheron's Call 2, and we all know what happened to that.  This time they've tarnished the good name of D&D, and I don't hold much hope for Lord of the Rings Online either.  If it turns out like I am expecting, Tolkien would be spinning in his grave.  2 potentially ground-breaking lisences down the drain.
