Definitely a good game, and here are some reasons why:
1. Very nice graphics.
2. Good setting (love Eberron).
3.
Nice combat system, you can jump around, tumble, block, needs some
reaction instead of just point and click combat, like in most other
MMORPGs.
4. Very nice dungeons, with cool riddles/puzzles and layout, they really put much love into those.
5. Great mature community, most people I have met are around my age, which is above 30.
6.
Grouping oriented, yes I like that, because if I was a solo player
person, I would play Oblivion, I still don't get why people see it as a
flaw, why do you play an online game solo? Get into a guild or start
your own one, and you won't have problems with finding people to play
with, you can also use the LFG window to find a group, doesn't take
long.
7. No XP grinding, you don't have to kill a gazilion
monster spawns to advance, you get experience for completing quests,
there are main goals and optional goals, so if you rush through the
quest you will not get the maximum amount of experience for the quest,
if you take time to explore you are rewarded.
8. System
requirements, I can play the game very well on my laptop, 64Bit AMD
3000+, 64mb Nvidia Go, 512mb RAM (even tho I will upgrade to 1gb asap).
Some bad things:
1.
Server stability in Europe is not very good at the moment, there are
some problems, but Codemasters is doing their best to rectify them, we
got 2 days of free subscription added for one evening of unscheduled
downtime, so that is fair.
2. Quite a bit of D&D content is
missing, like some Eberron races (Shifters and even Gnomes), maybe it
will come with expansions or modules?
3. You can't respec your character, if you mess it up, you will have to reroll, so you need to do some advanced planning.
Will
prolly be called a fanboy again, by the hateboys, but I don't mind, at
least I wrote down the reasons why I think it is a good game, instead
of just complaining without giving any arguments.

More reasons why DDO ISN'T a good game:
1. People keep quitting, making it harder to find a group within 30 minutes+.
2. The Dragon Vault is a complete disaster.
3. Casual players can reach level 10 within 6 weeks.
4. NO endgame content whatsoever.
5. Static dungeons, so everything is the exact same each time.
6. Everyone only wants to grind the largest dungeons for the most xp.
7. Warforged are usless and a detrement to the game.
8. Not my opinion, but many people think the combat is too arcade-style.
I'm sure there are more points about why DDO is NOT a good game, so just go read the official forums for more information...
We have a saying in Russian: "less people more oxygen".
If you hate this game so much why you post here? Don't you have anything better to do? You think you posts would make DDO a better game?
Tell me, when you read a bad book or see a horrible movie or eat at a bad restaurant you behave the same way? You stand outside the restaurant and tell other people not to enter?
You don't like DDO? It is you right, you know. But life goes on.

I've got plenty of oxygen, thank you. What I'm missing are some people to group with.
Tell me, when you read a bad book or see a horrible movie or eat at a bad restaurant you behave the same way?
Yes, I tell other people what I think about it or tell them to stay away from it. You don't do that in Russia? You'd rather watch other people make the same mistakes you did and don't even warn them? It's strange, but who am I to judge...

You are getting all your info from the forum, right? Which is not good, because we all know how forums are, the vocal minority who screams the loudest.
1. When I go on player search, I see more and more level 1s every day, the Euro servers are bursting with new people.
2. Don't have it yet in Europe, but from what I heard it's only the fact that the Dragon's special attacks triggers the 66 hour re-enter timer, the module is new, guess it needs to be tweaked, I will give Turbine till after the holiday to think of something, before I pass judgement, so should everyone else. The special attack patch was implemented last Wednesday, so not even a weak old, let them tweak it. Calling a nice content patch a disaster because of one anti exploit patch is a bit overexaggerated, but we all like to do that, so meh.
3. Spent 15 quid on the game, most solo player games don't keep me entertained for 6 weeks, in which another content patch should be available again.
4. Can't say, haven't reached the endgame yet, might be true, we'll see.
5. Like all other MMORPGs?
6. I wouldn't, so "everyone" isn't true, I want to play all the content, so does all of the members of my guild, just need to find the right people to play with.
7. Why is that? They fulfill their role... and they are a race of Eberron, so why shouldn't they be in there?
8. I like the combat system, nice change from the point and click of all other major MMORPGs.
And as far as voicing your opinion about a game, that's nothing bad, but another persons tastes are not neccessarily my tastes, so I like to make my own opinion. Just because someone says "it is bad" doesn't mean it actually is for me. Most flames about this game are lacking arguments, why should I listen to them, I'm not that gullible, I hope most mature players aren't either and make up their own mind.
There are so many areas to dispute in that post that I hardly know where to start. Btw-even on the game-box I believe it insinuates there is even game-play for the loners, (soloer's) but that is not really true. This abomination of an mmo should be shut down immediately. I dont have the box handy atm,but i do remember reading it.

And as always, you're giving really good arguments as to why you think that is. Convenient that you don't have the box handy _and_ that you don't know where to begin to dispute my post!
As far as my opinion goes, you are just a troll who doesn't have a good argument, just blind hate, your posts should be shut down immediately. :P
No, I don't do it for two reasons:
1. I don't care what other people do with their money.
2. Everyone person has a different taste. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean other people won't like it. Who knows, maybe you're posts scared a person who would like this game and enjoy it for many months. I know, because it almost scared me, but I bought this game anyway, and look, I enjoy DDO.
So basically you're saying that reviewing and critisizing games, movies, books and exchanging opinions in general is pointless and shouldn't be allowed because it might "scare" people? Interesting point of view

Reviewing and criticism is good, as long as there are good arguments, just saying "this is bad, don't buy it" is not a review or criticism. If you give arguments, people will be able to tell if they share this opinion, or if they want to give it a try for themselves.

LOL!
Of course not, but there is a huge difference between an objective review and some hateboy who shouts "this game is crap!!!11 don't buy it!!!!!!!.

Anyone with the box can easily examine it and see its there. I feel sorry in a way, because you mis-understand my intentions. I am not here posting in order to take away someones favorite toy. I am saying it has many flaws and I am not alone in that estimation. BTW- I would love to see DDO be some awesome, great game, but the reality is,its not even close. Heck, it would take a full-fledged exp. pak alone just to make up for the amount of content this game does not have just in order to make it worthwhile. Peace.

I'm already playing for 6 weeks still haven't seen all the content... Most FPS or adventures only last me a week or two, so I'd say it's 15 quid well spent...
The new module will bring us lots of new content, will last me another month at least, at which point the next content patch should arrive, so I can't see the no content argument, maybe for powergamers who play 16 hours day, unfortunately I have a job that needs to be done or I can't afford to play...
This may sound crazy, but do you work for turbine? Well of course you wouldn't answer that one. I have gone through your list of BS. Just read another post where you talk your BS some more. Funny stuff. Im not even going to say anything negative about DnD. My post is only about your garbage.
Wasn't it game developers that invented the fanboy?
What the hell just have to say it. DnD Online sucks big cashews. By the looks of things it is only the developers who are liking this game. What is the combined server pop? (not including the devs playing with 10 toons each) Also get back to work and add some content to the game.

I think i'm gonna bow out from this forum, everyone who takes your guys posts serious here is in need of help. Keep bashing a game you don't even play, a forum you visit while taking a break from playing Oblivion, obviously there is nothing else in your life but beating on things other people like and trying to pick fights.
Very weak, very weak...
@Admins: This forum needs an ignore function.
So that 90% that you came up with, is that the 90% of the playerbase that does not say anything in the forums?
You do seem to be very good with your math. One thing that is worse than being a part of the 90% of social rejects would be some lame DDO forum mod/Dev coming to mmorpg.com and spreading complete lies about the game just to make a buck. Suck this community dry of our cash.

"Hey the guy likes the game, he must be a game mod for that game!" ROFL, must be a hell of a lot of game mods on this forum, LOL.
Nope not saying every fan of the game is a mod what so ever. just ones that come to forums to post as much lies as you do about the game. I mean how blind can you be? only 90% blind?

As for the dungeons themselves, a few were good but most were boring and unoriginal.
5) I agree with you that the server community is very mature. I played on the Ghallandra server (USA) and that the 30+ crowd way outnumbered the kiddies.
6) At lower levels getting into a group is easy, but at higher levels it can be very difficult. By the way, I was in a very large guild (OTG).
7) You're still grinding - you have to kill things to complete your objectives. Where are the alternative solutions, like the rogue using his charisma to talk a monster out of fighting? If players find a way to get around killing monsters Turbine calls it an "exploit" and shuts the dungeon down.
Oh, and you forgot to mention you get an xp bonus for smashing barrels, lol.
8) Yeah, they did a good job with the system requirements. I've got pretty much the same system as you, only with more RAM.

There's many more puzzles, one requires you to find some pages from a diary of the dungeon's old inhabitants, which will give you hints on which steps you have to take, I like that sort of stuff, have to read a few pages of story while you play. Sorry that you didn't like them, but maybe you can admit that they tried better than many other mmorpgs where it's really just whack-a-mole dungeons.
Did you see Shankotor dungeon, that's almost like a whole city below ground, including a little kobold village. Loved it, very atmospheric, but maybe it's not for everyone's tastes, fair enough.
In our guild we all level together, if someone is behind the rest, we do the quests again so they can catch up, so we are all about the same level and can always find a group to play with. Nobody in the guild has to be at the highest level first, there is no competition in our guild, just good coop play.
Did you know there are quests were you are not allowed to kill the monsters or you will fail the quest? Cultist hideout in the harbor for example, if you kill 6 kobold prophets the quest is failed, so you need to sneak around and evade the kobold prophet patrols to succeed. It is true that most quests require you to kill monsters, but some don't and it's fun and a nice change from spawn camping MMORPGs. Where the story is just an excuse to kill more mobs, in DDO it's the other way around imo.
The vandalism bonus, oh yes, very silly, but put a smile on my face when I first read it.

And who might that "hateboy" be?
I can only see that somebody made a list about what's wrong with the game in his opinion.
Did you try to discuss? Did you point out what was wrong with his list?
No, your answer was "less people more oxygen" and some babbling that if somebody doesn't like the game, they shouldn't talk about it.
LOL
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Unfortunately my English isn't good enough to discuss and point out what was wrong with his list. What I tried to say was write an objective review or don't write at all. Bashing and flaming doesn't consider as an objective review.
I wish they never made it. Than perhaps we would see a decent D&D MMORPG in future.
