Thank you to Shaar for taking the time to go and talk to the devs, and for reporting back.
My opinion: things look as i thought, game not ready yet, however they are working on it, and after E3 i am sure there will be big news-probably beta-. Good to know about the racial mounts being in the game. Sieging and City building im guessing not finished or they want to surprise us. Graphic improvement is always welcome. New published after E3 could be a good thing...
One point i would like to make: the clearing up on the development time: first year just 4 people working in Norway, then moving to Athens, new offices, training developers (now 27 of them) seems the right time schedule considering they moved from another country. I fully believe that their only mistake was they announced the beta too early, but what can you do-overall the game is on schedule.
No huge news but something.

As for the rest of the article... again it all sounds very interesting, and I hope they call pull it off (else I wouldn't bother coming to this forum) however I grow more and more doubtful this game will ever be released (which is why I am usually so negative when I visit this forum).
What a bunch of nerdy looking guys.
most telling quote:
Beta: I told you not to ask...
what the fuck? Let me get this right , they are going to a show WITHOUT the game?
Do they plan on sitting in an empty booth showing themselves off?
Meeting with publishers? Usually when you meet with companies , you have a product to display to them. What is this some kind of bad joke? Why would anyone meet with you when you can't even show them what you are working on. Get real....
Atriarch tried this many years ago... they went to E3 without their game just to meet with people... 10 years later they're still developing...................... I think..
How can a secret be public? As far as I've read there isn't a single guild in any kind of beta.... If there was a few hundred people testing than stuff would of leaked out already long ago.
There was 2 thousanand people in Dark and Light beta too.... everyone knows how that turned out. Don't think these guys have any bigger team size or experience cause they don't.. Funny thing is it looks like they're trying to do even more than what DnL attempted. ho ho ho
"And I dont think there has been any MMO that was completely ready before developers started to look for publishers."
ya those companies are called Blizzard , Ubisoft , Acclaim.. you know.. companies who actually know how to build games so publishers don't mind signing deals with them before their games are 100% ready. NO publisher is going to touch Darkfall before its 100% finished.
The game has been worked on for at least 2 years (being generuos) in full development mode but yet they have nothing to bring to E3? Should tell you enugh.
It's either they have shit to show or they have no money to buy a booth at E3.. both don't really sound to good either way.
i personally know two people in a closed beta, i was the one who told the community this, and its a fact. There will be no leaks because the guild leaders are personal friends with the developers.
and thats why when i see that you have posted on the forums i puke in my mouth a little, its simply unbereable to me you see the letters of your name tsr, it sickens me!
"i personally know two people in a closed beta"
that isn't possible because there is no BETA. There may be an ALPHA though... after 5 years..
We know where you stand already, enough.
Go play Mourning which you believe so much in, given that you believe in Mourning as a MMORPG and you try to attack Darkfall as much as you can just gives me a reassuring feeling about this game.
Im still wondering, are you egomancer or any of his friends? I can't believe he have any, except those elementary schoolers he hangs around all day with seeing that his mentality is on par with theirs.
I CREATED MYSELF!

That line is thrown around before just about every game comes out. Problem is, no matter how long it takes to launch, the game ends up being an incomplete POS.
I don't care when Darkfall comes out, I just hope it is worth playing. If it has most of the promised features, and doesn't have any game stopping bugs, it will be a success even if only on a limited scale.

"tsr57, hows Mourning coming along?"
I dunno any game called mourning..
but age of mourning is looking about a billion times better and further along than darkfall will ever be anywho.
tsr57, did you ever actually play Mourning or any derivitaive there of?
It is a complete POS. The developers are idiots. You can expect about the same amount of quality from those devs as you would find from any other product made in Romania, which is little to none.
Of course, given the track record of that game, I don't know how any sane person could support it like you do, unless you are in fact one of the devs or their new publisher.
Wake us up when Mourning enters open beta and we will see. And I sure as hell don't mean anything resembling Mourning's last "pay to open beta" shenanigans that happened last time.
