I played it back when it first launched actually, untill atlantis came out which I didnt really care for. I had returned when they released catacombs which was cool to see new GFX and the other new features, but it just didnt have the same feel as it did back in the day. I think they should work on a part two or somthing..

No game feels the same after you leave and try to return. DAoC is a great game, but after I left most of the people I knew well in game left. When I returned I just felt like an outsider. NO matter how good the game is if the community you left aren't there it is often hard to get back into it.
Yeah DAoC is the best ever (imo). I played this game from release and had a really good time with it. Not only was the pvp (rvr) the best but the comunity was really good. I also stoped playing right before ToA.
i have been playing this game for 4 years and i dont regret a single day since i started, best mmo on the market and some great rvr/pvp system that no one else has at the moment.
I truly loved the RvR system the game had. I too played from release until Atlantis came out (I actually gave the system a try before I cried fowl). The best part about the game was that you didn't NEED to get to a high level to have fun and particepate in the RvR. That's what Thidraki was for. Good game, good times. I went back and gave the game another whirl when the "Classic" server was released. Including the catacombs instance dungeons was a mistake. The zones that were once so full are now empty because people are chugging away in thier solo missions. It's changed too much, but I'll be there for Warhammer.
I didn't like DAoC at all. The controls sucked... bad, and that detracted from my overall enjoyment by a very large margin.
I think I saw maybe 3 other players in the couple of days I played before canceling my account and deleting the game, but then again this was after the game's hay day. And I wasn't at all impressed with the graphics, bt I have seen some cool looking screen shots.
I didnt like it neither. Looked ugly and felt outdated i cancelled too. No instant addiction like in lets say eve. Might have been good when it launched but now its uninstall -time.

It should be thrown with great force"
