I don't think i'm gonna play any mmorpg until the new warhammer mmo comes out. I'm sick of WoW now, cancelled a few days ago. After reading the article on warhammer i'm really lookin forward to it
nicely said riot girl..i would have put it in that much detail...........but im a lazy lazy lazy man, from now on im gonna request you put my posts into more detail for me
Currently: EQ2...but stopping this month again. Good game now, but as with all games with an end game internal guild complaining and whining over uber drops has ticked me off. The influx of new players has made grouping easier and leveling faster, but has destroyed most of the RP on the RP server I am on. You don't have to RP but atleast be polite to otehrs and not shout l33t speak and such. Reminds me of Lightninhoof now -.-

1. Agree, and those who have added new mechanics didn't plan them out at all and end up removing the new idea or just bomobing as a game completely.
2. I think every MMO released post FFXI has been sent out in a mid beta phase. It is stupid and silly two fold. Why compete with a bunch of other games released to early for Christmas sales when you can sweep up all those leaving the incomplete games with a complete game in Feb or something? I seariously think the business degree 4th quarter sales mantality has ruined the MMO market, not that it is the first or last market to be the business degree's victim.
BTW, any combat based game (Aka modern MMO apparently ) that doesn't have exp loss/debt, deleveling, or lost items I am not interested in anymore. All that does is lead to people with ever increasing gear and lead to things like WoW's World of One Shotting with things like the The Unstoppable Noob (aka TUF). If you can't loose an uber item or can't lose the ability to equip it (ala FFXI) then there is nothing to do but farm for the next released upgrade and I dont' find that fun at all.
3. Aye.
4. Go look at a current box for WoW. There is a little sticker that saye "Over 5 Million Online" then read the official disclosure information (the store selling it will have it some where). The 5 million is the estimated current characters created on servers. That is character that haven't been erased and you can have upto 6 characters per server per account and over 100 servers now. Everyone has a banking mule, and/or a materials mule now add a few alts on various servers with their own mules....and WoW isn't the success it seems to be. It is definately making more profit than other MMOs in teh US market, but it is not the world wide contender people who don't read fine print make it out to be. Dollar per dollar L1 is making more money than WoW still, but it costs more to run, WOW only leads on % of profit. But % increase means nothing if it is less cash than a game with a more stable base.
5. WoW crowds will be departing soon is my bet, it won't die but will decrease a fair amount. PSU will get alot of the older PSO crowd and the younger reissue crowd. NWN 2 will get all the RPrs, pre-order info and new monster posts are dominating the unofficial server boards. Warhammer is going after the PvPrs and seems to be getting quite a crowd that are lookign to move on to a new MMO but don't like joining a game tha looks too complex like EQ2 or DAoC, nor getting a game that is simpler than WoW like SWG or MXO, or UO.
FFXI raised the bar for content and stability at release WoW lowered it. Maybe you didn't play at release but ask any release warriors about the rage gain issues pre overhaul 1, warlocks pre master summoner and fel domination, hunters amazing talent options and loss of DPS from the multi quiver bug and not gaining it again till beastial wrath only to lose it again from it sever PVP imbalance, or about boulder fist not having a functioning auction house for almost an entire week because they auctioneers kept disappearing and reloading (for all attempting to use the AH). WoW wasn't released any better than AO, just advertised better.
Planetside, if that even counts. Have been coming and going for nearly 3 years now, it's just impossible to leave alone.
The only other MMO that had lasting appeal to me was SWG, but alas... atm I'm sub playing Silk Road online, needed a fantasy fix but no more grindathons are parting me from my cash. There is some fresh stuff in the pipeline tho, the future looks bright, which is why most stick around in the void of patience.
I've been playing SB for 3 years, still have 3 active accounts but I'm working on leveling a lock on Wow, Archimonde server with my guild. I'm basically passing the time until Darkfall or Winter's Twilight comes out.
Been playing eve going on 3 years now, probably play it at least another 3. Also playing DDO as well. Those two MMO's keep me plenty busy with a bit of time for CS and other games here and there.
Right now im playing Vendetta Online fun space based game that uses twitch combat. I am also playing Rose online only cause i won the free 90 day account will not play afterwards tho.
