Europe has always been a confederation of states, one time ruled by Rome emporers, another time ruled by popes, another time ruled by Hapsburgs, another time ruled by Hitler.  The Europeans just arent very good with racial relations, so they continually war against eachother, the Democrats of the USA are trying to rectify that situation here and make us more like Europe.  Right Jesse Jackson?  Yup

Because of our rather bad past, we have the EU. So that something like that doesn't happen again. And it looks like it works. No wars amongst EU members for over 60 years now.

Regarding the topic. Just keep your states. Remember you would have to change all your flags

Well personally, I think we need to change our name. We're no longer a united states. A more descriptive and accurate name would be The Democratic Republic of America. Or just...America. We're no longer a federation, so saying that we are the United States, is for the most part downright fallacy.

Sometimes I wonder if splitting up would be better.  Just sometimes.
I mean, the north is big business, culture, and power suits.  The south would rather the north just disappear so they could drive bigger trucks and put Calvin pissing on something in their back windows.  And the west just wants the rest of the country to leave them alone so they can be themselves with nature.  And who knows what goes on in the midwest????  People disappear there don't they?  Skiing is good though.  I just think there's too much disharmony and personal interests between the regions anymore.  Seperation of the redneck, cowboy, hippie, broker, and artist.

First off, this topic is really stupid. I probably shouldn't have even voted on anything and left it to rot.

Secondly, if you really knew much about my country you would know that states are a diversity and that the states are what really have the control over their own as well as what created the fed level in the first place. It seems a lot that come here think they know a lot about the USA but wind up seeing it from a twisted point of view. Hollywood to blame? who knows. I guess that is where you immigrants learn your history.

Too many people rely on liberal news to get their knowledge and down the road we will see who all the asses are.

The other view of how our coutry is divided by north, east and west and south is just plain housewife logic. Some  that never gets out around the country let alone outside of her gossip corner of feminist view points. Which of course most younger generations tend to get their info from sources as such. VERY SAD!!! If you go from one state to the next you will see there are little differences but some minor cultures changes from one to the next. As you get from one side of our country to the others, it is more prominant from the south, north, east and west. Just like most other countries have as well.

The other one making claims about Europe and racists crap is just racist themselves. Racism is not prejudice and is equally spread through all colors of flesh. The ones that scream RACIST the loudest should be the ones everyone should be looking.

Finally, as for the USA becoming more of a USE is a joke. It is becoming more like a USM and I think the invasion from the south says it all.

In the end, you could NEVER take out the words of AMERICA so don't be so childlike. America is NOT a title that came for the USA only. I think some of you need to go back to 4th grade and learn about the word called "Continent" The USA and Canada is "North AMERICA". Typically Mexico is called "Central AMERICA" and of course countries like Brazil, Puerto Rico and etc is "South AMERICA".

I can't believe how stupid a lot of people are. However I shouldn't be surprised since it already has been shown a lot of people don't know when and what most or our holidays are.

I think a lot  of you need to stop playing computer and console games and get your F'ing asses back in school.

I thought that more people get their news from Fox News these days.  Hmmm...  That's what I always see when Drudge posts his viewership ratings up on his site.

I assume you're referring to my post here.  Which, I was half kidding about.  But I would ask where you've lived in your life.  I've lived in Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, California, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas (where I'm at now).  I know a pretty good bit about how things differ across this nation.  And trust me, they differ.  My family that lives in the deep south think my family that lives on the west coast are freaks, and the feeling is mutual back towards them.  I'm in the middle and get to hear all sides of it.  And my family that lives in the north, they pretty much keep to themselves.  Oh, and my friends that I have in Alabama, I would never let them mingle with my friends from California.  That just wouldn't be pretty.  Somehow, I just ended up neutral to the whole thing.  Probably because I'm a little bit of a redneck-cowboy-hippy.  I can find things I agree with when I'm around any of them, and I just tend to focus on that.  But I promise you, there are prominent differences in the people from one coast to the other and from one border to the other.  Personally, I enjoy those differences.  But some people don't see that the same way.
