im just worried about the fighting system, i dont know how it will work, is it a auto drive system where i jsut keep sassing each other, or a system where u controle the ship.. can u ram other ships? + how will u aim cannens if u are droving the ship?

I can not tell for sure as I have not tested it but from what I have read it seems to be a more advanced version of the system used in Sid Meier's Pirates. The cannons will most likely auto lock on your target BUT the angle they can fire at is limited so you need to turn the ship so that you guns face the enemy etc. You probably also have to consider the wind etc.

I believe what I have heard is that you are the Captain of the ship. On a ship in this time period, the Captain normally didn't lay the guns on the target. Therefore, you probably have to get the target with the arc of your cannons and you should hit the target.
The statement has been made that player skill will matter and skills will help a little. I think that the Captain that best uses the wind gage will have the most success. Reading up about naval tactics of the Age of Sail would be wise, but you don't have to be a world class sailor to play the game.
