The big question day well of the year is will star wars galaxies miproove you star wars fan will be able to enjoy the game will just have to wait and see.

Until a angry mob gets tehir pitch forks and torches and chases all of SOE's devs,SWG will get worse.
it hasnt gotten any better since CU was implemented. Its just a waste of time now to play SWG (IMO).

You got Playstation 3 on the brain and waiting for them to release it to the consoles.

Even if the game were to improve DRASTICALLY I would still have a difficult time going back because of trust issues with SOE/LA. The bad feelings all of this has caused won't go away overnight, if ever. Even if they let me keep everything I have now, respec my characters to whatever I want (at the level I want) and roll-back to Pre-CU play ... it wouldn't be the same. If I wasn't so attached to my characters I'm sure all of them would be deleted by now. I know my husband wishes I would do it and get it over with. LOL

I know where you are coming from and I agree. But contrary to what others think, I do love this game and wish it would be restored to what it was and improve from there. If SOE/LA were to pull another of their stunts, I'd just cancel again. But I miss it a lot, EVE's novelty is starting to wear out on me and Roma Victor is still a month away...

not with $OE and LA running things. If LA would give the license to someone other than $OE and LA would BACK OFF and let the new company run the game. LA has caused a lot of the problems SWG has presently because they arrogantly thought they knew how to run a MMORPG when they never have before and clearly havn't a clue how to.
Short version: If a new company runs things and LA stops butting in, I would consider coming back.
It's interesting. On the SOE forums, you see the developers claim that it was LA that forced them to do X to the game. But on the LA forums (LucasArts General Discussion) the mods there claim that LA has nothing to do with how the game was handled.
If I had to choose who to believe, I lean more to SOE lying (got a long track record of this). But I think it is still a bunch of buck passing with both companies liable.

Don't know where you saw that. Smed clearly said on one of his post-a-thons a few weeks back that the NGE was not forced on them by LA.

Guess I just mis-remembered that post. I just assumed that Smed was passing the buck.
Edit: And yes, I just checked and Smed did clearly state that LA did not force them to do the NGE.
I'd love to see it go back to the way it was, but let's face it, it wont for the simple fact the $OE knows they can control it, and seems to me like they are perading around the fact that we can't do a thing about it

I hate the NGE
No. 2 reasons that game will stay a low-population dead game:
1.) The previous players no longer trust the current people in charge of that game, they've proved that by being gone for months, and when they do try to play it now, they are only left wishing they were playing the old game (pre-cu), which the current management says is not going to happen, not even on a seperate server.
2.) The game is too old and has too bad of a reputation, which causes it not to be able to bring in a significant amount of new players. Combined with the record subscription numbers of WoW, and other newer MMO's coming out, people that are looking for a new game to play will not choose SWG. People are smart these days, they research before they go diving into an MMO. They don't just go buy it from reading the back cover like you would a sports console game.
So, if they can't get the old players back, and they can't bring in new players, then I don't see the horrid subscription numbers of that game ever returning to MMO status. They're only possible chance to recover is to open up a few pre-cu servers, but the reality is that even then they would only get maybe 100k back if they were lucky.
