Question about classes/money.

I have a quick question,

If I pick a combatant for my starter class, will I still be able do mining, so I can make money?

    As a combatant you will be able to do mining however you won't be able to recieve the 10-20% cost reduction that comes with the proffesion of Trader.

    Combatants are the best proffesion to start out with because they allow you to use the best weapons, and armor in the game which is VERY vital when it comes to playing the game.
