Does anyone know if there are plans to add new content in the near future? Or if Turbine plans on making changes to the game to make it more interesting? My paid account ends in 3 days and it looks like I'll be looking for a new MMO.
From what I understand, they (Turbine) are saying module 2 is supposed to be out this summer. Nothing more difinate than that... Some feel like there will be an announcement at E3 about the update... Just have to wait and see... I would expect it, the module to be out in either June or July.
What the heck are we supppose to do between now and then. It's like a bought a single player game and now I have to pay a $15 monthly charge to replay it. lol

Ah! Another has seen the light...
DDO is kinda like a game engine without a game. One day Turbine may get around to making a game out of it.

Well, as some suggest, you could cancel you subscription till the new content comes out... I personaly would suggest that you do what I did... Cancel your subscription and forget about playing DDO.
Sorry, but it's true. They don't offer enough content to justify a monthly fee. Nowhere NEAR enough content. What's STUNNING is this thing had the same development cycle as most other MMORPG's out there and offers less than 1/4 of the things to do. Sad aint it?

Plus they re-used the AC 2 engine...

Less content? Yes, UO.
Run out of things to do as fast? No, the game has only 1 thing to do and it does even that very very poorly.

The Devs have said on the DDO forums that they will be announcing things at E3 with regards to content, and as soon as they are announced at E3 that info will be posted on the forums. They are also talking about putting in a Bard/Wizard spell respec system and so on.
-------------- Played: Age of Conan, DDO, Saga of Ryzom, SWG, DaOC, MxO, EQ2, and so on... Wish List: Jumpgate Evolution, Star Wars: TOR, Star Trek

If you mean Evil race like EQ I doubt it. Alignments in DDO are not pre-selected for any being except certain classes and astral beings, but even thouse guys change their alignments.

UO was a sandbox though, content was 'relative'. There were *unlimited* things to DO in UO... you had complete control over your environment... right down to building player cities, etc... DDO is about as far from a sandbox as you can get

I know, that is why I said it. UO had almost no content until they tried to start gearing it like EQ towards the later years. I never said UO was bad for it nor did I think it needed explanation for anyone to understand my statement. UO is so far the ultimate example of a working DnD MMO that gives you alot of the flexibility of PnP and alot of ability to roleplay.
DDO does not work like that however he asked if anyone has ever seen a game with less content then DDO and the answer is UO, it has less content. Player made content can be put into any game equally, I beleive we were talking about developed content built into the game. That leaves UO at near zero, however I would prefer a game like UO over one like DDO any day of the week.

If you can tell me how you'd put player made content into DDO I'd love to hear it *chuckles*
