wow end game for the lose simple as that. Its no wonder many players are experiencing wow fatigue and even with the expansion coming there doesn't seem to be all the positve buzz there was on the boards here a few months ago.
Bottomline and IMHO WoW boasts of having over +6 million accounts activated. Wheather or not all of them are still active or most of them owned by Gold Farmers, kk, are to be determined but I don't think you will ever see anyone top those numbers. Why? Because WoW is like the a buffet, has a little of everything but doesn't cater to one particular group. If you want to grind to a beat (with a purpose) it has it, if you just level up in a hurry, it has it. If want immerse your self in lore and take longest possible path in leveling by doing every single quest, it has it. If you do PVP, PVE, RAIDS, Group encounters, Soloing, it has enough of it to do so. Is it the best experience MMO out there? NO, of course not. You name a function of WoW and there is or will be a game that does it better. From character generation to end game content, it does not match up to other games that boasts it. But is it really trying to do that, no its not. It trying to do enough. Enough to get people who would not sit down to a game like this and take about a hour to understand enough it to start and have fun. Some may think the game is to siimple but that is the point. The game is built to try to pull in all kinds of people, not just the hardcore gamers. Wheather the fun lasts for 2 months or 2 years thats up to the players themselves. The game will go down in likes of Sims, Tetris, Super Mario Brothers, Pac Man and great grand daddy of them all, PONG. You know why? It's because it to brought in a whole slew of non gamer people and became a video game fad that garnered enough popluarity that actual major newspapers write stories on it. Not bad for a game that only been out for little less than 2 years.
Bottomline, its a video game. Video games are traditional not meant to be played for very long. MMOs' are lucky by grace to last for 5 years without dying out. I'd like someone to tell me they are still playing a game that is five years old and playing it as hardcore as it first came out. There always going be something new and exciting and the OP is right by saying that we should try something new because that is what video GAMES are about, trying out new experiences in virtual world.
WoW IS boring, or was, i stopped playing it for a bit now. And yes the ONLY reason i kept playing was to get high end equipment. And when i was not in a instance run i played alts up, I ended up having 7 lvl 60's on the same server and 4 more 60's on difrent servers !! And the reason i kept playing was proberly cus i know how much i payed to play (Had 2 accounts) .. But i found the love again in EQ2, the love and passion and enjoyment of a mmo, a game with really good looking environment. And then there's "Epic's" that is easy to get 5 man from lvl 25, and HEY they actually release expansion packs every 6 month so the game dont get boring, and should you get bored there's a bunch of adventure packs u can get also. And no more 60 ganking a 20 and keep camping him...
WoW is boring, but i guess when the expansion come i will be more active in WoW again, atm i only attend AQ40 runs ..
Originally posted by sayuri2006 To those who believe WOW is the most fun game out there, think again. A recent post said the 10 most popular reasons why ppl bash WOW is because they are bored with the game......exactly! honestly, you want to pay for a game, which is not cheap, to get an item that improves your character by a minute amount. The game IS boring once you reach 60 and have gotten a few items from the +60 zones. PPL defending this game may call me a noob, but hey! I'm no more noob than you are. The only difference is I chose a life! You can't tell me, that unless you're a in a very casual guild, that you can casually play this game? Sure, this game has it's merits. Most ppl complain about the life after level 60 and I agree. Maybe there should be a "Hardcore" nature to inspire not dieing. But if you are a defendant of WOW, at least try other big MMORPGS out there, you may be surprised. I found the WOW Community to be the most immature crowd out there, despite being a good guild. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough. The general population needs to be working towards each other, not trying to bash each one over..... I no longer play this game, and hey! I've never looked back. Whatever argument you have against me, remember one thing: I've played this game hardcore (a guild leader), casually because of work, played on at least 5 realms (Blackrock/Gargath/Garithos/Archimonde/Wildhammer) and still believe you either play on the same old shit or come back to it. Try some other MMORPGs, you may find a better community and not to say the least, fun! That's what it's all about, fun!
Been playing WoW off and on since launch, it is not the greatest game ever made but I do enjoy it. In a good guild with good people. So it works until WAR! at least .
DOAC is still the MMO I judge other games by, My first and still my favorite.
Obviously someone just ganked you so you came here to whin about it. I don't think there is any better MMO with the quality WoW offers. I bid you good luck finding another game that is better to be able to stick with.
Wow was my game of choice for many months... then my wife got me Auto Assault and we haven't been back to WoW in weeks. After being level 60 in WoW for a bit the fun starts to fade... it may be the forced grouping and the 3 hours or more instance sessions that suck the fun out.
I was starting to wonder about the number of fun MMORPG's having tried:
Guild Wars (does something to my eyes after about 30 minutes that makes me sleepy) City of Hero'sVillains (has it's moments, love popping in for brief moments and then logging out) DAoC (just can't get into the graphics, which prompted me to close the account for WoW) WoW (Great game. Runs smooth and has lots of color. The end game instance grind is no fun after a bit) EQ II (Actually a good game, but very laggy even on nice PC's. If it ran like WoW, EQII would be exceptional) Eve Online (Slow going, interesting more than fun... but if you meet the right people the game shines) Auto Assault (A lot of fun, could have had a better tutorial explaining crafting early on and some voice acting, but it's been a lot of fun so far... the best fun I've had in an online game since my first months with the first Ever Quest back in 2000).
Nevertheless, when the expansion comes out for WoW I'll be eager to try it like thousands of others and start the insanity all over again.
hmm, no matter what game i play i seem to compare it with WoW, as i think WoW is the best mmo out there atm, and as for EQ i h8 that game lol, just my opinion, but Yea WoW so far is the best and thats that lol.
There are many different MMOs for different people I think. For people that don't like to manage items and try to go for some legendary items quests (which are endless) there are MMOs like City of Villains/Heroes where inventory is not as in normal MMO. I cannot speak for the community of wow but out of my experience the community is split up into very bad or very nice people. I seem to find nobody in the middle. Still if you think that wow is a bad game, that is your opinion and I respect it. Personally I tried lots of MMOs myself and I sort of cooled down on wow as it seems to fit my interest in games.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue."
WOW didnt do it for me, it is a very well built game, but i dont like WOW myself, but i dont understand why people feel the need to constantly bash other peoples choice of MMO's!!
DO you think you'll convert them away from WOW?
Just let everyone play their own game without constantly debating why this game sucks or that games player base is immature and so on...
Originally posted by sayuri2006 There are no better MMORPGs out there, think again. Isn't WOW a rip-off of EQ? It's funny how some ppl get sucked into the storyline of games, when really who gives a damn? WOW looks real? lol, you mean cartoonish? Hey, check out the real reality of other games like EQ2 and Eve for comparisons....admit it, you like the naked night elfs, right? HA! Storyline, you know anyone can figure that orcs will be against humans, ok, that much is true. So where did the rest (dwarfs/gnomes/shamans/tauren) come form then??? Sure, the dungeons are well done, they have to be. You will be doing them over and over again. You had a blast for a year? So did I! WOW has it's merits, but what u playing now, if any game? Exactly. The end game is alot since most ppl will reach the highest level. Sure, raiding will be in every game...I'm not saying other games will be better at the end game, but to look at other games if they feel WOW has become boring. If it has, move on.
WoW is not a rip off of EQ,it has a storyline, different workouts, roleplay, pvp, etc.
..who cares about the storyline? somebody who actuallywants imagination to inflict into there minds.. not jsut a Grind 24.7 with no meaning.. its like asking whats the meanign of life? the storyline IS THE REASON to play the game.
cartoonish?dude everything is basic graphic..if not WoW is betetr or as good as guildwars and better.. Everquest on the otherhand(2nd everquest) has some cartoonish crap gonig on..
..I guess you havent played the games BEFORE WoW..try playing warcraft3:reign of chaos, frozenthrone and the warcraft 2.it tells you much more of the storyline BEFORE WOW,your not experinced you just played WoW... you dont even know what the storylien is.
i agree, if a game such as WoW gets boring..move on and tyr something else..everybody has different opinions, taste, and gets bored at different times.
..hey if your in a bad community, when is there not one? you probely chose the bad time,people,area,servers.. your fault..not everybodies..
so you came to WoW forums to bash and flame.. good for you.. everygame has a good and a bad..get over it.

WoW has a storyline ? ..... lol
Baldurs Gate had a Storyline. Planescape Torment had a Storyline. ...... but World of Warcraft? /laugh
WoWs storyline i guess can be summed up like this: well, there s the Horde, and the Alliance, they don t like each other,.... now collect 20 underage wolf pelts for Dumbo the Night Elf to level up k thanks? (exagerated of course, but that s the essence of it)
WoW has a wealth of background lore about their locations and dungeons. but then, so did Everquest. an actual "Storyline" that your character can progress trough? Nada. except for: go get lvl 60 and then grind/raid for gear kk?
and yes, while the lvl 1-59 game was innovative with it s quest driven gameplay, the lvl 60 "endgame" is almost an exact copy of Everquest gameplay mechanics, if a bit watered down. call it "EQ Lite" if you will, that would be the most fitting.

exactly. WoW has background lore from Warcraft 3, Everquest also had a lot of background lore (made up from scratch), but as to a storyline that actually unfolds while you play the game.......
before release i heard them talk about so called "lifequests" a huge quest that begins at lvl 10 and unfolds as you level up to 60 with lots of twists and challenges. now, that would have had potential to tell a true storyline, too bad it didn t seem to make it into the game lol.

There is no game you play for your whole lifetime. You play wow, get tired of that and go play something else.
Its like saying "Face it Star Wars sucks, LOTR is better."
Moron, SW was awesome, I watched all of them 20 times, after I got tired of them I watched LOTR.
The game is just media that you consume like a movie, you dont play WoW forever.
Who asked you.
