julrichhjulrichh Member Posts: 100
Being a vetran of many mmorpg's is WoW for me??
RF online was great at first...but the lack of content ...the grind and the fact that all uper lvl's did was hunt noobs was annoynig...infact in 3 hours of play i was lucky to get 3 or 4 mob kills in till ganked...and needing 50,000 of those to lvl points ment id never see upper lvl's.
EQ2 was fun....but no high lvl content and sony constantly gimping classes drove me away....BALANCE...HA.
AO was just boring, COH was just killing the same thing over and over and over and over.

Does WoW have alot of content??....I know the graphics are nice, But whats this que line thing i keep hearing about??
all in all is it a good game?? From the boards all i hear is "it suck"..."it rules". But never get a straight answer. Will this game keep a veteran entertained?? And yes...i love pvp when theres set rules.
When you have high lvl characters camping soul binders and ganking noobs constantly....thats just annoying and childish

I see a bit of what you don't like, but nothing of what you do. From your post, I'd say mmo's in general may not be your type of game.

As for queues, it depends on the server. I play on Azgalor, a high population PvP server, and currently there aren't any queues to get in the game itself. However, you may get a queue waiting to get into the Alterac Valley or Arathi Basin battlegrounds.

If you don't like corpse camping or ganking, Blizzard offers Normal or PvE servers. In those, you can set your pvp flag in contested territories. Where as on a PvP server, once you hit a contested zone you're open to attack.

Yeah, it'll not dissappoint in the complications of how to play in PVP or PVE, some of the AI is crazy especially bosses, bosses aren't all hell kill designed.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

I have no trouble recommending WoW to anyone be it a first timer or veteran. It is a fun game no doubt.

However,as someone who played EQ2 and WoW for over  1 year ,if you thought EQ2 high end game was not enough i seriously doubt you be happy as a level 60 in WoW.

But the plus side is the pre 60 is very good fun and if you take your time and not power level to 60 you will have a good experience. Also if you do it slowly, the expansion might be out by then adding 10 new levels and obviously loads of new content.

    Hi mate.

Before I say anything, YES WoW is a very good game!

WoW is a easy mmorpg with loads of fun all way to the end level. Crafting and leveling + soloing is possible and it's fun too.

WoW is nothing for players who seek complicity but for those who just wants a fun experience.

At end game of WoW there is not much to do though, you will get a guild and become a hardcore gamer. Since you got to farm the high-level instances for rare drops until you have a full set of rare equipment. This is pretty much how it is in most level based MMORPG's.

You will also do alot of PvP! But without any real purpose or gain. You will sit hours farming ghost points for very little gain. And to be able to enter the PvP'ing (which is INSTANCED at specific battlegrounds unless you try the open PvP which isn't much to brag about either) you will have to sit in a queue and wait for your turn. This happends alot since very many wants to PvP in the battlegrounds. You could have to wait for hours.

If this sounds promising try WoW! My reasons for not playing it is it's community in general which is 1337 people who steal all your loot which drops in instances and who walk up to you saying "lol noob your equip suxx".

Also I'm a big fan of sandboxing since my first MMORPG was SWG. I also hate levels in games and the grind that goes with them (though leveling in WoW goes fast). I also don't really want 40 men raids to be able to complete something and I think that you as an induvidual should be able to complete most aspects of the game without forcing to group.

Then we have class variety which I don't really like in WoW. Since in WoW your class has one role only and that is the role you will play. It could be: Heal, tank, buff ... and so on. I want to be both healer and tank or maby buffer and damage dealer. That kind of variety is crippled in WoW.

Okay.. here is my view on WOW

The game is fun, it CAN be easy..but i think..if you want to be good at like pvp and stuff you have to be smart and have skill... i know ppl down the pvp..but.. if you are downing it you probably just have not gotten the hang out of it..i play l2 now...but i think any class can beat any class at level 60..you just have to find a way to do it. I enjoyed my time on wow...and ill probably go back.. it is easy.

the community does suck most the time..but if you get on there and find ppl who agree on that matter.. you can usually have fun.

i guess if you are hardcore, there isn't alot of content because you finish it too fast. i am not that way, but i do play alot.

i've played since before launch and i took 6 months off last year. I've been 60 for a while and i think there is plenty of content for me. it takes someone like me a ton of time to get my dungeon 1 set and then my .5 set. then i still can play for CC, AD, etc rep.  i have a long way to go because i PvP alot.

if you end up liking the Battlegrounds you can have loads of fun especially because they offer level capped low level BG's so you can play as you get to 60.

It really depends on your playing habits.

Its a good game to waste a few weeks on. See no reason not to try it, its not exactly vaporware. I do not know if its for "gamer" vets, but it sure work for game developers, programmers and graphic artists to spend a few week with.

Of course, people making games are not even half as hardcore as 12 year olds skipping school to win a new group of colored polygons, so I do not know.

Probably not. I know a lot of 12-14 year olds think its for kids and noobies, so they must be right.

It should be thrown with great force"

WOW is a great game for veterans or new players. However by your post......I dont think you would play it for more than 2 months like an above poster said. If you are down with raiding constantly.....you might squeeze more time out till the expansion comes.

Just seems you are like a lot of people...jumpers. Cant find a game that suits ya, so you jump, jump and jump. But in reality there will probably never be a game out there for you. Either way....you will get your moneys worht out of the game.

I'd say WoW is for anyone, but if you prefer a challenge, with older style features like Everquest has, it may not be for you.  It is really a lot of fun, but it's just too simplied and casual player friendly, in my opinion.

Looking forward to some frustration and fist clenching, suspenseful, and fearful game session from Vanguard: Saga of Heroes soon.

julrichh, I have a feeling you might enjoy EVE. WoW is mutch like any other levelbased game set on the leveling, then the game gets repetative. I have quit most mmorpgs, and found that what i dont like about them is that at one time or another you hit max the level, and then its just long houers for little reward. Atm there is not perfect mmorpg out there where you wont hit the "wall" sooner or later.

I already had my fist clenching at 60 in WoW.What with the 1hr queue to get into the microscopic pvp zone called a BG and it ends in 15 mins lol.Or the constant raiding of the 3or so zones avaliable to raid at 60 .

Thing i never figured out is how  blizzard could get the game going so well pre 60 and then forget to make it worthwhile at 60.And blizzard must be one of the slowest companies alive to add new content .

Most mmorpgs require grind theres no way around it, and i think the game is for anyone who wants to play it.... i dont think its catered to a certain one type of persons people like diffrent game for diffrent reasons. When people say they didnt like a certain online rpg because of the grind factor thats like saying i dont like rts games because you have to use strategy.... it kinda comes with the genre.....ya know
