Sigil has all the power in this relationship. Sigil can tell SoE what to do, SoE can't do shit.

like many have stated before me ..... SIGIL WOULD NEVER IN ITS RIGHT MIND ADMIT ANYTHING MORE THAN THIS ... KNOWING THEY WOULD SEAL THE GAME'S FATE

now why would SOE who has control over every lisence and game they every published .. change with sigil ? why sould sigil have RAN over to SOE KNOWING >>> KNOWING it would piss its player base off unless it needed $$$$ and microsoft refused to fork it  out? ....

if george lucas who is worth over 10 billion $$$ lost control of SWG .. what makes you think the pissants running SIGIL will have any more power to fend off SOE's attempts to direct which audience the game shall be marketed towards??

For a start Lucas Arts didn't lose control over SWG.

So far the devs has been pretty straight with the player base and I am going to believe what I am hearing. Besides dude it's like 6 months to release, we don't have to make a final decision RIGHT NOW.

I like the move, SoE has a lot of experience with MMOs and they can guarantee the servers run smoothly and everything works fine. I just don't want SoE touching gameplay (which they won't be mate!)

Sigil is the publisher/developer. SoE was the publisher of SWG so they already had a foot in the door.

SoE COULD buy Sigil tomorrow, but nothing today has effected that.

Yes yes, we KNOW you are just dying to throw your money at SOE and show them what a good company they are and how succesful their game dcisions are. That you LOVE to be part of the group they can show off to the media "Look, HE is playing, HE is paying us tons of money, all our decision up until now have been flawless, and the complaints are just whining"

Hopefully... Normal people do not think like that, and after so many times being treated like milk cows of no value, feel that money should not be given to a company that give nothing back. A compnay known to destroy games has just bought a  new game. Everything so far they have had their hands on, has been in one way or another, turned into complete trash, and they have time and again completly ignored the majority of their costumers to please some suit in their offices. But you sit there and think:
"THIS time.. they wont"

Of course... you do not have to take a stand.. you can be a fool and a victim all your life. Just never complain ever again, yer just another sucker on the list.

SOE=co-publisher, sigil will have control of the community and gameplay etc, while SOE will just do the billing and marketing etc.

As co-publisher of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Sigil assumes greater
control of marketing and PR, while maintaining responsibility for game
development, community relations, media relations, customer support, and quality
assurance. Under the terms of the agreement, SOE will provide distribution,
marketing, hosting and back-end
support -- including billing and technical support -- for the game.
Additionally, SOE is tentatively planning on adding Vanguard, upon its
release,to SOE’s Station Access™ subscription plan. Station Access allows
players to enjoy all of SOE’s MMO titles for one low monthly price.

Wow man you have to be joking. Seriously.

I'm planning on paying my money to Sigil (you know the company that is making the game as well as publishing it?) and hey if SoE takes over, you know it's pretty easy to cancel.

I am going to take shit as it comes, if VG is horrible or SoE does some bad and I don't want to play it? I won't. I'm not going to go into pre-emptive tantrum mode.

Also dude you are a bit scary towards SoE, they are just a game company, not Hitler.

Nope... SOE is a terrible company, pretty much from the ground up.  Vanguard was the number one game on my radar, but it isnt even something I would remotely consider playing now that SOE is involved.

It doesn't matter how good this game will be. As long as SOE is involved, they will lose millions in potential revenue. Doesn't matter if SOE never touches the code... the mere fact that they would make money off of this is the main reason behind the protest.
