I was thinking of trying out DAoC. But it required a credit-card for the free trial. Should i put in my credit-card? Do people even still play DAoC? I'm looking forward to WHO (warhammer online) and its made by mystic, so i would like to see how the combat is in DAoC, because it might be the same for WHO.

DAOC has been reported to bill the credit card after the trial period runns out.
So if you do it, be sure to cancel the subscription in time (even if you do it the very first day you still get the free trial)

daoc is the best pvp you will find in an mmorpg at the moment. I personally don´t play it anymore however I played that game for over 3 years before I finally got bored.
Auto Assault has a free trail now, you might want to look into that. I´m level 55 in that game hoping to get to 60 soon so i can start getting involved in the end game pvp.
Ye like the guy said above, its worth a try for a mess about, maybe you will like it and wil lgive you something to do why you wait for Warhammer along with the rest of us
And ye cancel ur subscription as soon as you've made your account, you still get the trial and saves you wasting ur cash if you forget to cancel before or lose your password, or your computer breaks or somethings, sods law -.-
I played DAoC for 3 yrs since day 2. I still have friends there. It all depends on what you're looking for.
They have a website though for people who play on Percival
http://www.hiberniapercimue.com/
Keep in mind though, that all the RP servers have been placed into one server now. Which was to my disappointment. I had a character on each of the old servers Guin/Alb; Nimue/Midgard; Percival/Hib.
When they blended it like that, I quit.
The only way the enemy can understand you is if you use emotes, or of course outside of the game in Teamspeak or Ventrilo, which many people use on many games.
Yes, there is RvR out in the frontier, though personally I liked the olden days before they axed Emain.
Yes, there are many different quests there. Sadly their EPIC armor cannot compete with other items found on raids, thus all that effort to get to 50 to me ended up being a waste of time. My thoughts though.
The people are nice, but they are also annoying. Just like in the world. RP realms are becoming a lost breed, people are using l33t talk and garble that it seems that RP is slowly becoming a lost art.
Anyways, I wish you luck on whatever you decide. Remember, the game has been going a LONG time, so don't expect to go in there and find an instant slot to place a house. They are probably rare now.
There is alot of Horse riding from one place to another, if you don't use the teleporters at the merchants corners.
I'm now playing WoW, and find that more enjoyable what with everything going on in my life.
Of course, I'm waiting for Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS) to yet be released (still in development).
But hope that I've answered a few of your questions.
DAoC is a nice game, but it all depends on what you're looking for. Remember though, there ARE gank squads out even in THIS game. And the battlegrounds are for different levels to help hone in your skills. Good luck!

Men are like fine wine.
Be sure to stomp on some of them, leave them in the dark,
and wait until they've matured enough to want to have dinner with them. *winks*
