i guess i would have to say fantasy since the most fun ones are in that genre, but i would like to see developers try out other settings and be creative. Games nowadays rely too much on proven genres. Games are created from the through the creative thoughts of a developer, but the now that development costs are higher and profit motive as well, developers are afraid to game on what would be fun, but what would be profitable. It's a shame too cause I would like to see more new types of games developed. I don't think I want to see any more WWII fps or fantasy MMOs.
I like futuristic and medieval too. Let's see what I playing.
Entropia Project - nice futuristic, but very buggy and oldish now, but have friends there, so it's like an MSN messenger for me. Knight Online - always like to be a bad big ork and have some instant action, bad that nothing more can offer that game for me. Martial Heroes - where can I put that? Medieval? Maybe. Like the idea to be a martial artist and nice graphic. Anarchy Online - don't know, like it and not too. Didn't play too much with that, can't catch my heart, but futuristic games. City of Evils - like the idea to be an evil, nice graphic. Bad that must pay for play.
If I can combine EP social and game system with KO fast action and CoE graphic then I can say that I found my game. Until then I look forward.
Originally posted by Morkreth Neocron II would rock if they would make it alittle more mainstream and polish up the blocky graphics. Make it more interactive and less plain dark and gritty and you might have an awesome futuristic sci-fi setting that could pass Anarchy Online. I voted Futuristic
Fantasy and futuristic cretainly seem to be the most popular. Is there any game out there that combines the two well? Would people who prefer futuristic play a game with fantasy elements or vice versa?
I would enjoy the medieval setting with large areas, monsters, graphic lagging spells and fighting classes. I get tired from the online shooters and I always end up getting killed from out of nowhere.
Also, Mr.Unknown, you have the best signature I had ever seen.

fantasy, i love the style of it. The fact that its completely unreal to our world, and is something that isnt even imaginable.
the other types have a similar feeling, but just not the way i like it. FANTASY FTW!
its just so original and pure, there are you massive evil Blaster rifels and stuff like that, it all seems much more fair..
i like games like:
World of warcraft
Runescape
and
anything that looks like those two
although at one time i remember playing sum random space game that i got realy into, but it shut down (died)
ahh well.. life moves on

I agree. I wish there was a nice Battletech/Mech MMORPG.
Not that Asian crap, but a nice robot MMORPG that didn't suck.
My favorite MMO setting is Fantasy.
The best game for me would be a post-nuke game, but i'd have to stick with futuristic/starwarsy
