Vanguard will still be great!

I feel people are really over reacting in this situation. Sigil said SOE will not have any part in developing the game. It really dissapoints me seeing all these fans giving up over this ....but ya, you cant do anything about that right? But anyways I just wanted to say I think vanguard is still going to be an awesome game and I dont think Sigil is going to do ANYTHING to make this game go down in flames.

I'll point this out again.
For many of us it has to do with SOE being involved period. It does NOT matter if they are making the game or simply publishing it.
For many of us it's the principle of it.

I've read the FAQ btw. Infact I spent a lot of time educating myself about this since it was announced. I do not care that SOE isn't involved in the creation of the game. They get a cut of the royalties and I refuse to give moeny in any way to SOE.
That's my stance on it. Perhaps I should make a FAQ about why so many are pissed about this?

ya i know, i guess the community isnt as strong as i thought it was, but i know there are still a strong many that want this game to be great

I can't say I am happy about SOE being involved but whats done is done.  I still love the game design and gameplay concepts whether or not SOE is involved.  On the bright side getting rid of MS, the flack about SOE might make this game a niche game for experienced mature gamers.   It will certainly kill some of the hype.   That is fine with me.  I would love Vnaguard to be a niche game and not for the mass market.  Getting rid of a lot of the people that jump on the bandwagon of hyped games is only a good thing IMO.

The problems between MS and Sigil may also have been about watering down Vanguard for the masses.  If that was the case integrity and game quality won over attempting it to make it more WoW friendly.

But regardless the reason.  The decison has been made.  Brad made a nice commentyesterday that one of the benefits is now we will release the game when its ready.  Thius appears to be mean the game will be remain in beta for quite sometime.  Again which will make it a better game.

While yesterday was certainly not a day to celebrate we still may see many good things that result from this decison.

WE wanted the game to be great, then many of us did beta.

The problem is that SOE is so devious that any problems that arise ingame will be attributed to their influence, whether its justified or not.   I guess my point is that their prescence will always be a dark cloud hanging over the game.   That being said, I still hope that Sigil can remain in control and the game will persevere despite this.

As I've said before: they said the same thing about Microsoft, and yet now claim Microsoft was trying to give direction. Are we supposed to believe them now when they were lying before?

It will turn into another station pass for SOE and end up like another EQ series and who wants that. IMO

lying about what? if this is true that says alot about sigil putting their foot down and not letting anyone (not even ms) persuade them.

well said myfriend, this is exactly how i feel about the situation ATM.
